Being a 300lb man (at times up to 365lb), I have learned to buy the FIRMEST, MOST EXPENSIVE mattress you can tolerate and afford. Yes, at first they feel like you're sleeping on a granite slab, but add a good 2 inch memory foam layer and they are pretty comfortable - PLUS YOUR BACK WILL THANK YOU! The heavier you are, the faster your body will compress a mattress. Having a good quality, very firm mattress will slow this process down considerably. Just my personal experience.

At first you will probably HATE your very firm mattress, over a few months as it softens up a bit, you will wonder why you ever bought a soft saggy mattress!

It's very difficult to research mattresses because the industry sells the same mattress under different names at various retailers. But if you compare the number of coils, the composition and thickness of the various layers, you can usually figure out competing products at different retailers, then just buy from the lowest price. I like us-mattress.com because they give comprehensive info about relative firmness, coils, layers, total weight, user reviews, etc., about their products. You can use this as a starting point to compare similar mattresses at other retailers by trying to match up some of the info. It's not always perfect, but it's the best way I have found to make an informed decision, in an industry that doesn't want consumers making informed decisions.

This stuff isn't worth anywhere near the claimed "worth" prices.

(Not speaking about this specific mattress) I always found that whole notion "you get what you pay" kind of crazy. What if I got something on sale does the quality drop since I paid less compared to someone who paid the full price. What if I bought a sh*tty over priced product would I still "get what I paid for". Measuring quality by price is absolute lunacy specially if you are a savvy buyer who is always looking for a deal.

Brooklyn Bedding. I will not go with any other mattress company. They make a great product and have an even better customer relations dept. I highly recommend 👌
How much did they pay you to say that or do you work for that company?

Nope don't work for the bedding company, I work for an electrical company. You can find their prices on their website. The reason I recommend is because they gave me 4 months to try my new mattress. I was unhappy and at 3 and a half months I contacted them they gave me the option of 100% refund or 100% towards a different model mattress. And they let me choose to have a company pick up the mattress I wasn't happy with or donate the mattress to a friend or family member with no cost to me. I decided to donate the mattress (that was only 100 days old) to a friend and I received a new mattress from Brooklyn Bedding. Again I highly recommend.

I see. I'm glad you had a great experience with them and it seems like they provide a good customer experience. But the reason I thought it was suspect was that it seemed like an advertisement, is comparing a high-end product (I saw the prices and they're expensive, in the thousands for a queen) to a much better value, and you have no experience with the Sealy product so it felt like thread-crapping too.

Once you're willing to break the 1 thousand price point in looking for a bed, I don't think you'd be interested in this product anyway, so it's an unfair comparison.

If you pay $1000+ for a product that cost $200 to make, the company will generally be willing to provide top notch CS.

Any company that offers super flexible returns is likely not putting a lot of quality into the item. Brooklyn Bedding in particular changed out the latex in their entry popular bed for memory foam, which means it will sag sooner rather than later. Great care for the customer right there.

If you want the best deal, you'd need to do research and likely go into a brick and mortar to test out beds, likely at a discount outlet sort of store. Forgoing the CS and taking on some risk (like people ever use bed warranties) in return for a higher quality product at a lower cost ($1000 vs $300). You'd need to go through three beds before you start taking a loss. In most cases, it'd be less hassle than getting a manufacturer to honor a warranty after the return period.

We recently shopped for beds and ended up buying a purple 4 mattress. It took a few weeks for me to get used to it, but I'm sleeping much better now. We're in the market for a new bed for my son so I'll check this one out at Macy's.

Is the purple bed bouncy?

It felt bouncy at first, but I'm used to it now. Work gave me an Oura ring that tracks my sleep and before I was moving a lot and not getting much rem or deep sleep. Last night I slept 8 hours for the first time in a long time. The purple pillows are different, but I like them for propping my head up to watch tv with the head end of the bed raised.

I went to the closest Macy's and they had the twin version on display. I was able to lay on it despite the signs stating "please don't lay on the beds due to covid" lol. I can say it was pretty comfortable. Not worth $1000 but definitely worth $400.

Did anyone happen to screenshot this deal? I was trying to snag one for my daughter but had issues getting the site to cooperate last night, chat was useless and customer service was closed. Tried this morning and they're now offering just the free box spring. Called in and customer service will honor the free adjustable base *if* I have a screenshot showing the promotion because the rep said there is no history of it existing. 🙄

The cached page still shows the promo but, you have to click on the red link that says 12 month financing + more offers.
