You and me both. Quicken is certainly not perfect but it seems every alternative is significantly worse.

I use the deluxe version to track the values and my overall allocations for 5 investment accounts. Deluxe can at least do that. I've had to manually adjust the asset allocation for some investments, but I suspect premiere would have the same issue.

I am in the exact same boat as you. The main functionality that you will be losing is not being able to run reports that list capital gains and interest/dividends similar which are in similar format to the tax schedules you would file with your tax return. They are nice to have but I don't rely on them to file my taxes, so not a big deal for me. There is also a tax planning module that only comes with premier - it has been buggy, so again, not a big deal for me.

Thanks that helps.

The tax planner has never worked properly. I do run some of those reports but don't rely on them or use for transferring into my tax software. I use the reports mainly as a way to determine if I need to adjust my tax withholdings due to investment transactions during the year. they are nice to have though.

My subscription expires on May 25th. I think I'm going to pick up the deluxe with the sale and 15% cash back and give it a try for a year.

20 year user. I currently have premier version but considering dropping down to deluxe. I have multiple investment accounts and do some stock trading but uncertain if deluxe will meet my needs. The description between the two versions isn't clear on what functionality I will lose. I don't think I can pay the difference between deluxe and premier if deluxe doesn't work for me.

How is deluxe for your needs?
I buy individual securities both in a traditional brokerage accounts as well as retirement accounts across multiple financial institutions. I don't day trade, but not sure it would make all that much of a difference as a result of transaction volume. I find the Deluxe version to be sufficient for my needs. I'll run customized net worth reports but not much other than that so someone else will need to comment on that if there are any specific report questions.

In deluxe, it seems all the base investment account functionality is there. You just have a few "auto" reports that are greyed out. On the off chance I want to see some specific investment information in a report, I generally go to the "auto" report for what I'm looking for and find I don't have access. Then I spend a few extra minutes to create my own equivalent report by scrolling through the tabs of the more generic reports.

I left Quicken after many years when they went to the annual subscription model. I switched to intuit Mint. Its not as elaborate as Quicken but a lot less headaches, frustrations, corrupted data files and crashes and its free. Just takes some learning. If all you are doing is daily tracking bank accounts and brokerage investments it works for me. The only thing I miss from Quicken are the annual tax reports to itemize deductions come tax time.

Have you looked into the Money in Excel template that's included with Office 365?
Hi quick question. I have a Microsof office 365 subscription. May I know what is Money in excel? I never seen that… what is the use for it? Do you mind share?

Hi I'm not running any business or investments. Is this software useful for daily accounting (personal use) for non business purposes?

Which software? Mint or Quicken. They both keep track of your financial transactions. What kind of daily accounting do you mean?

I have heard very good feedback on wavespps. I'm going to switch to it. Free version should be sufficient for me

Sorry I am new to this software. Is this similar to Mint or other budgeting software? Or is this mostly used for smal businesses?

This software is used by old people such as me! I go back to 1999 with Microsoft Money as far as financial stats. Not that I need to go that far back, but that is what is keeping me with Quicken.

As far as I know the free options do not let you migrate Quicken data into their platform.
