Does MLB still have the stupid insane blackout rules? I am 450 miles from NYC but can't watch the Mets, Yankees, Blue Jays or any team playing them. In addition to that form of stupidity, Sundays and sometimes even Saturdays were completely blacked out because of National Cable TV coverage, but I do not have cable! Combined, both of these restrictions made me watching baseball on the weekends almost impossible. Last I heard BOTH of these limitations were getting removed? Can anyone comment? Have the blackout rules been revised, reduced, or removed?

Yes. They suck. Here is a map you can put your location to and see what is blacked out.

You can also search around and find way around the blackout. VPNs seem to work and there are a couple other methods depending on how much work you want to do or what you might already have

i haven't been able to watch any games for my favorite team on mlb.tv this season since they are blacked out. unless paying $54.99 for a single team eliminates blackouts, you're throwing money away unless it's an out-of-market team.

That's the first line of the sales pitch: "Watch every out-of-market game live or on demand at 60fps on multiple devices." But it's good to state again so people don't make a mistake.

Since you're already in the situation, VPNs seem to work well for MLB.TV. They don't seem to care if you use one except YMMV on devices with GPS built-in. But in my experience, VPN works fine on PC or with streaming devices.

Dude, just use a vpn. I just turn mine on for the ten seconds the app checks your IP address location then turn it off. It doesn't continue to check. You can definitely get away with using a free vpn.

Weird. It works on my iPad and iPhone. They must have stricter checks on desktop and console

Do a ton of batters still step outside the batters box after every pitch to stand around and adjust their gloves making the games way longer than they should be?

I suppose I can use VPN on a PC then stream it to my 65" in the living room. However the Braves are under .500. So, maybe next year. At least I know the VPN workaround can still be used. I have wired Ethernet everywhere in the house now so device to device 4k streaming is finally a reality. Thanks !
