Not trying to thread crap, just passing some experience on with grill covers. At the price for the Char Broil, it's probably worth a year or two, but I've never had good luck with any of the black covers, probably because they are sun/heat sponges. My grill stays on the back porch, uncovered and exposed to the sun but not in the hottest part of day. I've never tried a Weber cover because they cost too much!

I went through several grill covers and had the same experience -- maybe 1-2 years at best, even some I spent decent money on. I think I had a Char Broil at one point. I finally took a chance on Prime Day and bought the one linked below, which has lasted about 3-4 years (I'm on my 3rd one). The outside material is less "plasticky" and more cloth-like so they don't tear easily, and the lighter color helps with the sun. They work well but eventually break down in the sun, weakening the material and then tearing in high winds. On Prime Day, they seem to sell it for the mid-20s, but it's a good deal even at $30+. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HCLLMM/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=7967c33b8ff55876... Appreciate the advice, but I had that exact cover in the link and hated it and it ripped terrible in about 6 months. I got it replaced under warranty for free and the same thing happened so i gave up on that one.

I really thought the lighter color would hold up better in The sun, but in my experience it has been the opposite and the black ones seem to fare better for me.

I think you are right that most that i have gone through last in the 1-2 year range. I would love to find one that lasted 3-4.

These cloth types absorb and hold moisture leading to a hot moist rust prone environment. The Weber is is the only one I've had any luck with.

This XL one actually fits my Pit Boss Austin XL pellet grill. I personally like the fit of this better than the one made by pit boss for it... that one became stiff in two years.

That's crazy that it didn't last for you at all. Where are you located? Since mine isn't in the sun for the entire day, I wonder if that has helped the longevity. At our last place, it sat in the sun for about 6-7 hours, blocked by the townhouse in the morning and two huge trees in the later afternoon.

I hate spending money on "disposal" things like crappy grill covers. Seems like such a waste, literally and figuratively.

If you're wondering whether this will last. It will last at least 2+ years without ripping. I have mine for over 2 years now and it's still good. Compare to the off brand cheapy covers that you get from Amazon, this is much better.

I admit it, I am a cheap b@strd. I always sort by price when I buy anything. I bought couple of cheap covers and they would always rip after a few months. When this deal came up a few years ago, I did a FOMO buy. I was so surprised by how long the Char broil lasted. Although, this one won't fit my grill, but if it does fit yours, I'd go ahead and buy one or two.

I am in the same boat with ya. I get about 2 years and time for a new one. Mine gets afternoon sun and I have had both the black and the tan ones and again 2 years tops which is why I don't spend more than $20-25 max in price. Some of mine had ventilation webbing which was cool but 2 years and they eventually start to rip from drying out. I bought a new one last year so should be good for another summer!

I have bought this cover 4 times. Always blows off and eventually tears. If I'm lucky it last a year. Finally had enough of it so decided to buy one for about $5 more on a whim. It's tan so it matches my stuff better. I've had it for only 6 months, but it had never budged. Wind does nothing to it. No tears or fading (yet) and is thicker than these Char Broil. Here's the link to what I have if your interested. Just trying to be helpful. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QB1Y...UTF8&psc=1

I also had the exact same cover as in the link and my experience was that it lasted maybe a year longer than general black ones I used to use, but eventually the sun and elements took its toll and it ripped down the middle too. I think I may just replace it with the cheap ones every so often.
