With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.
Worked for two Hondas... use a unique (or misspelled ) name if you've previously been an active customer.

Thanks OP, unfortunately my radio is not eligible Frown
Just give them a call and they will offer you a 3-month trial. Tell them you just purchased the car and it came with free service. They will tell you the free trial period was already used and will over 3 months. Now you may need to provide your credit card.

This doesn't require a credit card, and I did this just yesterday to reactivate my car's radio.

In situations when you do need a credit card for use with Sirius XM I recommend you use a gift card, credit card's one time use generated virtual card number, or a PayPal key (virtual credit card number that you can change/deactivate after the first verification charge)

I thought this was pretty well known. I sign up for a new three month trial every, well, three months. Have the date on my google calendar, early morning (before the car's taken out of the garage, thus it hasn't received the shutoff signal yet) I sign up for a new trial. Have to make sure to use a different email, possibly name and zip too (not sure). Have two vehicles on the same schedule so I do one after the other. Haven't paid for XM in years.
Can you expound on your process a bit more, especially on the part when the trial is about to expire and you're readying another trial? Do you sign up for a new trial on the same day the existing one expires (since you have the expiration date on your calendar as a reminder) or do you sign up for the new trial like the night before? What's the significance of not letting the radio get the shut off signal? Wouldn't you need to have an expired subscription/trial in order for a new trial to work? I'm super intrigued and interested in how to do this myself! Thank you!

I had it for 2 years paying low prices by cancelling and signing up at intro prices.

I only drive 10-15 minutes to and from work so it is not worth it for me anymore. My feedback
-GREAT selection of music, always Something to listen to, I would bounce between presets and usually was happy.
-Low commercial interruption - it is there but not like local radio
-VERY low quality sound files. Even cranked all the way up, never loud enough with windows down. It gets loud, but not to the point I felt it with my system. CD's and MP3 Files were much louder and crisper. Even using streaming service on phone had better sound quality. Something was missing. Highs were not high, bass was not raw and thumpy.
-I had times, not often but times, where it just stopped working. 3AM on a 12 hour drive cross states is when you need jams. Also stopped a few times in downtown areas, just went out and nothing was there.

I found an old Ipod. I have 16gb of assorted tunes that works great with my system. Sound is so much better. I don't have to crank it to 10 anymore, when I do it is so much nicer than I had with my satellite.

If I start driving more, may reconsider, it is better than local stations... You have more Genres to choose from, and if you are at home or across country you have the same stations and can listen to what you want.

Yep, great reminder. Starts in a few days.
I'll try to do this after that.

Looks like nothing to do but turn on the inactive car SiriusXM radio for free listening starting today until June 8.

After that's over the free 3 months described in this thread can be activated for free listening until September 9.

YMMV but I'm only a few days into my 3 month trial (started 2 days before they announced the free memorial weekend weeks, of course), and they've just emailed me an offer to extend for 3 more months for just the $2 fee, aka: "give us a credit card so we can keep billing you after it ends"

I'm tempted to generate a one time use CC and give it a go. Does anyone know if it is harder to use a free service promo after redeeming that one? Thanks

I took them up on the second 3 months which is expiring next week. I plan on cancelling and then trying for another trial, or going for the $5/month option which I haven't ever been denied.
