Just as. FYI. If you do activate radio service, you also get free streaming as well for your phone etc. Also if you have a google nest music device or a Alexa product, you can also stream on that once you connect your Sirius account to it. For example… you can say. "Hey google play Sirius XM channel (say the number or the station name)' and it will play it. It's super good .

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.
Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)
The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

As a dealer I get it for free on all our cars. (I can just reactivate every 90 days for cars in inventory)
I still use my phone most of the time for music
I guess once they hit rock bottom they figure they will re-sign as an all podcast network? No thanks.
I'm in it for $60 a year now, but if they don't re-up one more show I listen to I'm out.
I have a love/hate relationship with SirusXM. I like it, but after 3 months I am like, I'm not paying for this nor do I want to give them my credit card. Over the past year and half this is my 3rd "3-month trial." Seems like after 3 months my SirusXM fix is good until another trial comes along.
To DIY, download the SiriusXM dealer app, drive to a dealership (I have read not all dealerships work?), then with your radio on siriusxm channel 0 (displays your radio ID) type in your radio id on the app. It should give you a success message on the app and your siriusxm should eventually work on the car.

Android app: https://play.google.com/store/app...n_US&gl=U
Apple app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sir...d97161873
There was a warning not to touch/change anything on the radio while waiting for the activation download. Upon activation within a couple of minutes the display changed to show that the channels were being downloaded, and a few seconds later the radio was activated and on.
It was impossible to change the radio to channel 0 as it was locked on the preview channel 184 with the constant announcements to subscribe, but there was no problem with the activation.
It was done parked outside a Ford and Honda dealerships, not the same as the car brand, and a clear view of the sky.
The app MUST be allowed to access the smartphone's location before the radio # is entered and the activation is attempted.
NOW, the question is: Can this be repeated after the 6 months run out, or must a certain time pass, say a month or two.
Just make sure the car is on and running when you do the app thing.

Howard was an irreverent SOB in the 80's and 90's even before he got to XM when he was at the local OTA stations with Robin his sidekick!
And then the FCC got on his case and he moved to XM.................

Yesterday, tried the new dealer app method and it worked with no problems as I posted above.
People have posted here that the dealer app method is good for 6 months but we'll see if it's 6 or 3 months.
Have you tried the dealer app now?
People have posted here that there was an issue with another older version of the dealer app and it wouldn't work. Perhaps, if you tried the new dealer app version now with the process as described above here by me and others it may work.
