Worked on two cars today. My wife loves many of the stations and has been a subscriber in the past. I have never subscribed in my car…I don't mind public radio, except for when I am traveling in the Midwest or Deep South(not meant to offend anyone.)

You're also unable to cancel without speaking to a CSR (live chat or call) and literally begging. I have a screenshot from when I cancelled my free 3 month trial it took me asking 5 times consecutively lol

So nothing has changed since I had to do the exact same thing 5 years ago.

I don't understand what all the negativity is. Every year I call to cancel few days before my last promo expires, they offer me a few thing, I keep saying no, then eventually get the prepaid 1 year for $74 total with all fees, about $6 a month but it's prepaid so I don't have to deal with it for another year. Been doing this for past 9 years

I got an offer for 3 months for $2 due to ending a trial recently. My last trial was 3 months for $1 that ended on 12/7/22

Similar for me. I cancelled mid-December after they wouldn't renew me for another year of Platinum at $5.99/month. OP link said I wasn't eligible for this offer, but I clicked through to see their other offers and one was three months free with a $2 processing fee.

The bit rate makes the music channels totally useless. I don't understand why they have to use so much compression.

Count on them to charge an inflated rate once the trial is over. I know it says otherwise, but it's Sirius.

Strongly recommend using a one-time card number.
Is this like it used to be where you practically have to threaten someone to get them to cancel? I did a few of the freebies early on and it was miserable to get it cancelled. Also, in the age of Android auto why do folks even mess with this unless you are a long haul trucker or something? Just seems incredibly antiquated now.

I thought this was pretty well known. I sign up for a new three month trial every, well, three months. Have the date on my google calendar, early morning (before the car's taken out of the garage, thus it hasn't received the shutoff signal yet) I sign up for a new trial. Have to make sure to use a different email, possibly name and zip too (not sure). Have two vehicles on the same schedule so I do one after the other. Haven't paid for XM in years.
That's a lot of work, but nice tactic. 👏 Not a mathematician, but how much is my fall 2007 lifetime sub dollar cost averaged today now that is has amortized 15 years lol … 👀 paid $500 for all channels including all sports etc …
