I bought it for my one year old. I don't find it annoying. It's not really loud. Those toys with repeating music are more annoying to me

If you have musical sense, I'd recommend a tuned glockenspiels instead... Not as cute and a bit more expensive, but you can actually hammer out a melody and eventually teach the kid how to play a scale and a song or two, so it could last past the infant stage.
