I bet the M.2 SSD you put into this laptop is an NVME drive. The 2nd M.2 expansion port on the back does not support NVME drive. Get an M.2 SATA drive and it will work. Just check all the past Gateway threads and many people can confirm this.

At double or triple the price it should.

I mean no one considering this would really consider spending that much more. If they can afford that I doubt they would even look at this.

Although battery like would suck with that. If you want a gaming notebook this is not that.

Bought and returned when it wouldn't recognize m2 ssd drive I added and then trackpad stopped working. Btw gateway tech support was terrible!

They do have the 14" one for $429.

This is cheap but you get what you pay for. The tracpad has problems. No USB C charging or display port.

Doubt you will find any new notebook with these specs for this price.

My main issue is the trackpad kinda sucks, but it is overall pretty great for the price.

I bought the AMD Ryzen™ 5 3450U version of this when it was a front page deal @ $349. (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gatewa.../977539259) Undoubtedly same debate will ensue here. Can I mine crypto's on this? Why doesn't it have a 2TB SSD for this price? Why no 24 inch screen? Yada Yada Yada. Bottom line...It had terrific specs for the price. You cant match it especially in a post Covid world. Yeah, the sound is weak. And the touch pad is very finicky. But so long as you don't get a lemon, it is a hell of a deal relative to similarly tiered options. Most casual users don't intend to utilize any type of expansion slot or make modifications.
