I think these are great. Drill is a little weak, but driver is awesome.

Last Blackfriday I got a Milwaukee and then a Dewalt hammer drill and both disappointed me with wobble in chuck. I ended up with Bosch hammer drill which has no wobble at all. I think Bosch is your best choice for a battery drill. Bosch was cheaper and better.

"Better" is relative. The drill in the combo you link is a downgrade (larger, heavier, brushed, just slightly less rpm at the higher gear) but you add an impact for $50 more dollars. The batteries appear identical but in both cases are pretty low capacity. I wouldn't want to build a deck with either kit (mainly due to the batteries) but they both get random tasks done around the house.

With all that said, I think you can find a better quality combo for that price or similar if you are patient.

Edit: this combo is better IMO but it still only has 1.3 ah batteries

Is it normal for the battery/charger to smell like burning pennies after the first charge? Got this in the last deal and debating keeping it.
