I see LG WM3900HBA | DLEX3900B electric washer and dryer combo on sale black color for 1499.99 plus taxes. It includes Free Delivery, Basic Installation and Haul Away Included in Most Areas* and worry free costco return policy.

Though its a discontinued model currently sold by costco, its pretty much same as 4000 model that's replaced 3900's.

https://www.costco.com/lg-wifi-en...76249.html OOS

Samsung 6300 is also on sale (Champagne) for $100 less but Lg looks a better buy for bucks.

Yes, they do. I just got the Maytag commercial washer installed on the second floor.

Where do you see the commercial product? at the store or online?

You can download the LG Thinq App to remotely control the washer and dryer and check the elapsed time as well as change settings. Pretty useful.

4000 Series is 2021 model, 3900 is older.

From my research:
1. 4000 is essentially a 3900 with some minor updates like the "AI Fabric Sensor" and "Auto Pairing".
2. The 4000 lacks two programs, "Drain+Spin" and "Sportswear", that the 3900 has.

My opinion, the sensors are bullshit and likely LG can add to the 3900 with software updates.
As for the programs, all the program does is control how long , when and what sequence to run the three basics in a washer wash, spin and risne. If you are diligent enough you can achieve the same missing programs with some extra buttons .

I ended up buying the 4200 series with pedestal washer as there was only a $250 difference between the 3900 bundle and the 4200 bundle. Buy once cry once I get.

This one is better than most. Still you should dry the seal and leave the door open for at least 30 minutes after each use just to be safe. The seal is slightly different design then most to help keep it dry. It also has a clean mode you should run about once every month or so. I never had problems with odor on my previous front loader, but we cleaned the seal at the end of the days laundry...Doors and dispenser would be dried and left open at the end of laundry for the day.

GE has a Ultra Fresh Vent system which dries the seal for you...

Costco listed this deal price valid through 6/13/21. Do you guys know how long it usually lasts?

Want to ask because the house is close to closing (but not yet). Just want to wait to order after closing and get the key if that is possible
Best to buy NOW and select a delivery day FAR away. You can also "reschedule" the delivery date as it approaces. If the house you are planning to buy falls through, you can cancel the order.

Depends, we live in the desert and our AC electric bill is already high so a gas dryer is much more efficiency with our electric bill (at leas in the spring summer and fall)
You should get solar. You're break even point would be FAST. The more expensive your elec bill, the faster it takes to break even on the solar investment. Homes that have solar are worth more too.

Does this thing get a smell to it? I had an old front loader in an apartment once and it smelled really bad
The biggest problem with front load is the boot seal gets very moldy very quickly no matter how often you clean it. That is prob where the smell comes from. My next washer will be too load for sure to avoid this issue.

Based on two sets of font loading washing machines, both new purchases, for the two different houses, YES. That's the draw back /w front loaders: there is always residual water in the drum. BEST TO ALWAYS KEEP THE WASHER DOOR OPEN, to MINIMIZE SMELL AND MOLD. All of the front loaders recommend running an empty load w/ some bleach only to help w/ the smell and mold. Some of the better front loads have a "timer" to remind you to run the "self-clean/sanitize" cycle, to help combat the smell/mold.

Does this dryer exhaust to the side?
ALL dryers exhaust to the rear. The owner/installer would need to direct the exhaust tubing to the side.

I hate front loaders. I never understand why they are popular. I got the LG deal on top loads at Costco and they are amazing. Had multiple Front loaders.
FRONT loaders clearly NOT for you. Other may benefit to know this.

FRONT loaders popular b/c:
*STACKABLE = small footprint.
*LARGER washing drum capacity! I can wash my KING size comforter at home due to 5.6cuft front load drum; no top loading washer can do this.
*Easier on clothes b/c no center agitator than can beat-up clothes. Some top loads don't have a center agitator and won't get clothes as clean as machines w/ center agitator.
*LESS WATER; some people may care about this.
Quote from codeMonk :
I am debating over front-load Or top-load, as top-load doesn't need pedestals. I don't want to spend extra $500 on pedestals.
Pedestals are nice to raise the machines higher. But as others have pointed out, you can make your own pedestals. LG makes a pretty cool handwash pedestal. Perfect for the delicates/hand wash items; expensive though. But if you got the money, makes life easy unless you really love doing laundry.

What size washer will fit a king size comforter
I still have the first LARGE front loader Samsung WF56H9100AW (5.6cuft, 30in WIDE, 5y/o now). I can wash a king size comforter NO problem. You will pay MORE for a LARGE capacity front loader.

LG (WM9500HKA) has a 5.8cuft front loader!
https://www.lg.com/us/washers/lg-...gsignature

Whirlpool has a 5.0cuft front loader.

Samsung has a "6"cuft (5.0cuft front + 1.0cuft TOP for sm loads/delicates/handwash). Not stackable due to the TOP load washer built into the front loader.

If haul away isn't a factor, is the 4000 the deal to choose?

Home depot has similar deal (however they charge extra for installation kit etc and no additional warranty) but in case you just want dryer it might be better - https://www.homedepot.com/p/LG-El.../312440605

I had maybe this size before and had to do more loads. Sold them to a friend and bought super capacity size. Really cut down my laundry time. Get extended warranties. Both of my new washer and dry and to be repaired out of the box. Been working great now for years.

With supply drying up if you need them get them now while still in stock.

If you do get the gas dryer from this Costco deal, please make sure it was correctly hooked up to your gas line. Costco may be great but the delivery/basic installation/haul away contractor are just in a tearing hurry to get in and get out.

In my case they forgot to apply "pipe compound" to the gas line and which was explicitly stated in the LG gas dryer installation guide.

If you get the sidekick pedestal washer, you will need THREE receptacles (main washer, pedestal and gas dryer) available. We did not at the time of the costco install, so we used an extension cord to test out the install which was fine. A day later I had my general contractor came out to do put in a receptacle (replace the rusted hot/cold water hook up behind the washer/dryer), he suggested replacing all the water lines with steel braided lines and when he was reconnecting the gas inlet he noticed that the Costco installer did not use pipe compound during the install.
