The flow remains constant. This nozzle decreases the hose diameter which increases velocity and decreases pressure.

"The relationship between flow, velocity, and pressure can be explained using Bernoulli's principle. Bernoulli's equation states mathematically that if a fluid is flowing through a tube and the tube diameter decreases, then the velocity of the fluid increases, the pressure decreases, and the mass flow (and therefore volumetric flow) remains constant"
I bet you the instant that that plastic yellow handle hits the ground, it's going into the garbage.

Whoa, perfect timing! Looking for a decent replacement for the common garden hose trigger that exists everywhere - I didn't want to go brass for now, so this looks great!

If your water pressure sucks. Don't waste your time. A nozzle isn't gonna change your water pressure.

Pass due to the handle plus the reason to get these is when you do pull them by the hose they wont catch on stuff not so with the handle

The flow remains constant. This nozzle decreases the hose diameter which increases velocity and decreases pressure.

Pass due to the 1-star reviews of how fragile this thing is with the plastic handle.

yea yea bla bla bla i knew all that.. when your whole house water pressure is around 70-80 psi dont expect it to shoot up to 45 feet as advertised.. ive got fat hose, skinny hose and they all suck.. get it? jk

My neighbor is a serious gardener and he uses cheap plastic ball valves on the end of his hoses for hand watering. They're like $2 at a hardware store and he said they've lasted just as long or longer than any other nozzle and he's right that they're surprisingly adjustable. Sharing in case someone else is reading the comments looking for a super cheap "nozzle" for some hand watering

It might be true to say that the nozzle might not work very well on a low-energy system, but a nozzle can most definitely increase the pressure. A home water service comes in at a specific flow dictated by the size of the waterline and the pressure through that line. Utilizing a nozzle to dam the flow increases the pressure and velocity of the output at the expense of the flow energy.

More on topic, I have one of these fire hose style nozzles. While it is kind of fun to use, one of the rotating nozzle pistol grip style nozzles is more functional for most tasks. I do not recommend.
