WVA is Wide Viewing Angle and most commonly IPS. IPS term is trademark of LG and only LG Panels or any other manufactures' Panel based on LG technology can be called IPS. Panels from other OEMs like AU Optronics or Samsung cannot be called IPS directly due to patent issue although they are similar. That;s why Laptop vendors use terms like WVA, IPS-Type etc. when they use panels from other manufacturers other than LG. I think you have seen that in lot of Asus or MSI laptops as well where they mention that IPS-Type Display.
If this comes with the 220-250 nit display, run away. Atrocious. I bought a Ryzen 7 recently and verified 3 times with Dell that it came with the 300-nit display that they have listed in their online manual. All 3 times they said it has 300 nits. I screen shot this so I'd have it in case it wasn't like some others said. I got it and it was very lousy! Has kind of blurry dark areas? I don't know the verbiage. Barely bright at all and I like my screens dark! NO WAY could you use it outside. SHAME ON DELL. LIARS and they won't rectify the situation!
HDMI 1.4... DELL DUDE, WHY? How much more would it have cost them to throw in 2.0 so you could output 4K/60 to a TV or a monitor? Clearly the Xe can drive it. Also not a single type C in sight, nevermind DP alt mode. I get companies trying to gimp their lower end chassis models to try to get you to pay double or triple for one of their XPS or Alienware offerings but come on man.

wva display most likely a TN display. I just purchased dell model 5402. They try their best to hide the fact that this in fact is a TN display and the nits is more like 225 instead of 300 as advertise.

There is a lot to it but in short, 32 Bit is outdated and is limited to 4GB of RAM. You need 64 Bit.

What is the display brightness has to do whether the Display is TN or IPS? If you're under the impression that IPS display means brighter display then you're mistaken. There are thousands of Laptops at sub $600 price point, coming with 250 nits IPS display. Lenovo IdeaPad 3, 5 and Flex series, Asus Vivobook series, Dell Inspiron 3000 and 5000 series, all have that 220-250 nits IPS display.

And WVA display is IPS or similar technology based display (AHVA by AU Optronics or PLS by Samsung) in 99% of time. I have even checked reviews of Laptops by Notebookcheck, Laptopmedia where they are mentioned to come with WVA display and reviewers confirmed that they have IPS display. Those have been posted here multiple times in here.

Don't post your opinion here which has no base or proof but you just think it to be true. Dell Inspiron 7400 14, which is Dell's highest Inspiron line up, just after XPS series, mentioned to have a QHD+ WVA display. Are you saying then that also has a TN Panel, right?

Specs on this are kinda basic. Older HDMI, no WiFi 6 and only Bluetooth 4.2, RAM is only 2666, no backlit keyboard, and no USB type C. If you don't care to have better components then this will do. This computer is made for a user who doesn't need too much. Although 12gb RAM is nice and the NVMe are nice.

I bought one of these 3 or 4 weeks ago from Dell on sale with the same specs beside the one I bought had 8GB of memory for $404. So this price isn't that great. If it had a 512GB SSD and a blacklit keyboard then yes it would be a great deal.

I think u need to get out more. Maybe make some friends. Never said nits had anything to do with panel type.. Dell isn't being very forthright about their monitors. If you read the question and answer section u will find that dell is overexagerating nits and will seldom tell anyone exactly what type of screen it is. Lots of complaints on the screen quality of their laptops .under 800. The audio is even worse. That's why I'm returning mine tomorrow morning

I think you need to be a bit constructive and and rather than asking random people about or in Dell Chat, try a bit harder to find that out. Every Laptop Dell has, they provide detail service and Spec manual, stating all the possible configuration, including display specification. They are very easy to find and available in their product page only.

Below is the link for the Dell Website of 3501 series and you can find all the information you need under Drivers, Manuals and Support Tab
Also, here is the link for the Product Specification. Go to the Page # 18 to find the Display details. It clearly mentioned to have a 220 nits display
https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/ins..._en-us.pdf

Next time, try to find out the details like this if you're getting any Dell Laptop, even from other sites.

Anyway, I have no issues about what you think of the Laptop or whether you want to keep it or not, just saying that your assumption that WVA is TN Panel is a completely wrong idea you just put it over there without checking any actual data.
