This is a new generation of Kitchenaid dishwashers, nothing like the crap they used to sell. I know this for a fact because this replaced a piece-of-junk Kitchenaid I previously had which was horrible every which way. I was very skeptical buying another KA dw but bit the bullet given the many favorable reviews. And ZERO regrets.

This KitchenAid or that? I don't have Costco membership or Citi card. Thanks 👍
My only complaint is that the silverware holder doesn't fit the handles on our forks/spoons, but that's a minor complaint. I just removed 1/2 of the holder's grate and put the knives on one side and all others on the open side.
We replaced an older dishwasher that came with our house that sounded like a lawnmower when it was running. You can stand next to this one and sometimes won't be able to tell it's on. If you have an open concept house then that's a game changer.

I previously had a Kenmore Elite, manufactured by Whirlpool as this one is. It has been a beast and still works after 20+ years, except the racks are rusting away. I'm hoping Whirlpool still is maintaining that level of quality.

Honestly don't know but am about to throw out a (I think around $800) Maytag I bought just over two years ago that is garbage. (Of course now that the warranty is expired, they won't cover anything)
The "adjustable" top rack parts are plastic and even if you replace them, they break months later. Seal easily leaks.
Going for good quality durability for sure this time. Thought I'd check LG. But maybe not?
The washer and dryer are still good. Three years ago, one of the parts under the washer broke causing minor water damage to my wood floor. I quickly ordered a replacement off Amazon and fixed it myself and there hasn't been any problems since.
The dishwasher is ok. The bottom arm broke and I replaced it. Then the water inlet valve. It is working.
My French door refrigerator and the reason I will not buy LG again. The compressor died right after 5 years. The compressor has a 10 years warranty, but labor for only 5. So I had to pay 300+ for the guy to come out and replaced the compressor. Now the compressor is running a long but the temperature fluctuates wildly 37-48F. The freezer goes 0-25F, so my ice cream gets melted.
Our research found Bosch and KitchenAid (manufactured by whirlpool) being the top recommendation all over the internet. We checked out models at Lowes and Home Depot and really liked the 3rd rack of the KitchenAid. We were a little unsure of the Bosh rack configuration and no heat dry. I had been just about daily checking Costco for these to go on sale. This popped up and we decided it was worth it to upgrade. We went with the 604 model. I was fine with the 404 but my wife thought the Prodry would be nice. In our current dishwasher anything not glass or ceramic is usually wet after a cycle. We got a scheduled install of June 2nd. Hopefully it is nice upgrade over our already pretty solid Whirlpool Gold.
