This is a great deal, for comparison, the $800-100 model sells for $989 at best buy, $1100 at home depot. Same for the fancier models.

Bought the 404 the last time it went on sale for $759 (front page deal) after holding out for a Bosch forever. I have been extremely pleased with both the performance and the quietness. The 3rd rack is actually useful and takes a lot of cups and glasses, leaving valuable room for other items. Middle rack is also adjustable and allows for bigger pots and pans to fit into the bottom rack.

This is a new generation of Kitchenaid dishwashers, nothing like the crap they used to sell. I know this for a fact because this replaced a piece-of-junk Kitchenaid I previously had which was horrible every which way. I was very skeptical buying another KA dw but bit the bullet given the many favorable reviews. And ZERO regrets.

This KitchenAid or that? I don't have Costco membership or Citi card. Thanks 👍

Who hauls away the old dishwasher, the delivery people or the installers?

Is this a good price? Any one have experience with this brand/model? Thank You!
I have the 704, and it's amazing. Had it about a year and have had no issues. As others have said, the top rack is actually useful. We drink a lot of coffee and now those mugs go on the 3rd rack and we still have plenty of room for whatever we use to cook dinner. All the other dishwashers I looked at only had room for utensils on the top rack, which is better than nothing but a long way from this design.

My only complaint is that the silverware holder doesn't fit the handles on our forks/spoons, but that's a minor complaint. I just removed 1/2 of the holder's grate and put the knives on one side and all others on the open side.

We replaced an older dishwasher that came with our house that sounded like a lawnmower when it was running. You can stand next to this one and sometimes won't be able to tell it's on. If you have an open concept house then that's a game changer.

Where did you read that? That wasn't my understanding, but to previous question, yes you do need to use Costco Citi card.

Discover has 5% to warehouses this quarter that ends in few days. I'm wondering if you can call/chat after you place order and ask for a split payment Costco visa (small ammount ex $25) to qualify for the GC and put as much as you can on Discover to get the 5% back up to $75

These Costco deals tend to sell out quickly and I have missed out a few times, so I jumped on the front control model (KDFM404KPS). I was convinced I wanted a Bosch, but I'm kind of sold now on the third rack design of these with the extra sprayers. We get a lot of crap at the bottom of our glasses, and it seems like this might be pretty good for that.

I previously had a Kenmore Elite, manufactured by Whirlpool as this one is. It has been a beast and still works after 20+ years, except the racks are rusting away. I'm hoping Whirlpool still is maintaining that level of quality.

What's the difference between the $799 and $979 models listed here? Not obvious from looking at the specs...
Did you ever find a good comparison? Even the Kitchenaid website doesn't compare them.

I did, actually. The KA website allows you to select up to three models and compare them side-by-side. The two $799 models here are effectively the same but one has front controls and the other hidden on top. The $979 model just has a couple of additional drying settings and four stemware holders in the middle rack vs two stemware holders in the $799 models.

Meaning that LG or Samsung don't have durability?
Honestly don't know but am about to throw out a (I think around $800) Maytag I bought just over two years ago that is garbage. (Of course now that the warranty is expired, they won't cover anything)
The "adjustable" top rack parts are plastic and even if you replace them, they break months later. Seal easily leaks.

Going for good quality durability for sure this time. Thought I'd check LG. But maybe not?
When we remodeled our kitchen 7 years ago I went with mostly LG appliances.

The washer and dryer are still good. Three years ago, one of the parts under the washer broke causing minor water damage to my wood floor. I quickly ordered a replacement off Amazon and fixed it myself and there hasn't been any problems since.

The dishwasher is ok. The bottom arm broke and I replaced it. Then the water inlet valve. It is working.

My French door refrigerator and the reason I will not buy LG again. The compressor died right after 5 years. The compressor has a 10 years warranty, but labor for only 5. So I had to pay 300+ for the guy to come out and replaced the compressor. Now the compressor is running a long but the temperature fluctuates wildly 37-48F. The freezer goes 0-25F, so my ice cream gets melted.

I missed the $600 Whirlpool dishwasher at Costco about a month ago. Our 7 year old Whirlpool had an odor issue that through tons of work we resolved. It still works great but in the process of fixing it we were researching new ones and with young twins we have a lot of dishes.

Our research found Bosch and KitchenAid (manufactured by whirlpool) being the top recommendation all over the internet. We checked out models at Lowes and Home Depot and really liked the 3rd rack of the KitchenAid. We were a little unsure of the Bosh rack configuration and no heat dry. I had been just about daily checking Costco for these to go on sale. This popped up and we decided it was worth it to upgrade. We went with the 604 model. I was fine with the 404 but my wife thought the Prodry would be nice. In our current dishwasher anything not glass or ceramic is usually wet after a cycle. We got a scheduled install of June 2nd. Hopefully it is nice upgrade over our already pretty solid Whirlpool Gold.

I bought in January two separate guys. Delivery dropped off the item and then a installer came and took the old dishwasher.
