Not TD'ing or anything, just pointing out this is Intel-based, so it will almost certainly never see third-party firmware support.

TP-Link is fine, but they're not known for long-term support, so just be aware that you're "saving" money up front, but you will pay for it later when they stop updates in 18 months.

Still, it's $99. And I'd take TP-Link over a comparably priced / spec'd Netgear any day.

You should get a usb portable fan and plug into the back of the router.

Don't buy this model for wireless VR with Virtual Desktop or Airlink. From VD dev ggodin:

Very well rated router, just make sure you dont enclose it, this model tends to run hot so it needs air to breath!

Is it stable? My Netgear R7000 is constantly disconnecting after running perfect for about 6 years straight.

Can purchasing multiple of these be meshed together for better coverage and seamless transition from one to another?

I like TP-Link AX routers, but they get hot and when they are hot they drop connection and reset. If you keep it in a good airflow area, this thing is reliable and performs well. I can 't put this behind my couch like the D-link or Orbi AX routers I've tested recently.

And I JUST BOUGHT a AX1800 router for almost the same price. After waiting for two years for wifi 6 pricing to come down. C'est la vie.

So placing in a closet won't help either

Have this router, it runs super hot. I used soldiering iron to make holes on top. It's never scrapped on me but still runs hot. Bought it on eBay for $50

Yeah these drops in router prices all of a sudden stinks. I spent $80 on the ax1800 from amazon and their short 30 day return period just lapsed. Ugh. Knew I should have bought elsewhere. But my old one stopped working and I needed it for work from home.

Disconnecting means your router is in its last legs
