Check keg prices where you live. It may be more cost effective to just keep purchasing cans.

For example keg prices near me for craft beer are only a few cents cheaper per pint. (not including gas, travel time, keg exchange fee, CO2, pour waste)
More economical, yes. More aesthetically pleasing, no.
would need to be a fridge without a compressor hump or slope in the bottom, or with sturdy enough shelves that you'd trust to fit and support a full keg. a half barrel might still be difficult to fit without trimming accessories from the interior. its certainly possible and can be done on the cheap, especially if you scour marketplaces for used refrigerators but this is a good price for a turnkey solution. if you want to DIY... do your research!

Can anyone explain why, "Does not hold Coors and Miller brand keg?" Is that per tastes or specifications?

Found this in the answer section of the product page on BB:

Miller-Coors uses a couple of styles of 15.5 gallon kegs. The standard 15.5 gallon keg fits, but they have one that is designed to look like a wooden barrel that is too wide for this kegerator.

Seems more practical and economical to buy a cheap fridge and install a tap through the door.

You could build a pretty much exact duplicate of this if instead of just "installing a tap through the door" you installed a tower tap on top.

This is definitely a good deal if your in the market. If you want to save some money and don't want to convert a fridge check Craigslist or other used markets, you can get one for $150-250 and replace lines for $10 or all couplings/fittings for about $60 if you want. I had to do this a few times when I let it sit without cleaning lines and it's really easy.

How hard is it to convert this to a two tap kegerator?

I just did this on mine. You will probably have to replace the tower with a 3" tower and then buy a dual or second regulator as well as a second tap and coupler

If this is the same room as the two tap; you just need to swap the tower out or drill another hole for the new tap and feed the line down.

Can this be installed outside in an outdoor kitchen? It'll be in a covered patio.

Easy enough if you buy a new tower:

https://www.beveragefactory.com/d...ouble.html

and add a dual beverage co2 gas regulator (https://www.beveragefactory.com/d...lator.html)
or use a single beverage gas regulator and add a gas manifold (https://www.beveragefactory.com/d...utor.shtml) to split the gas line.

Dont be cheap and just split the single gas line into two using a Y connector host barb. The problem you will have is one day, you wont have a keg connected to one of the lines and sometimes gas will leak out a untapped keg coupler. It just happens with crappy equipment or even when you have a quality coupler and its just gets old or banged up. Youll have no way to close the gas flow to the unused keg coupler. Youll have a slow leak with no way to stop it.

You could move the gas tank to outside of the fridge. There is a hole in the back of the fridge for poeple that want to do that.

I dont see why not, but dont cover the back area where the compressor is. You need the space for the heat to escape like a regulator fridge. Cover it and the life of the compressor will be shortened.
