How does this compare to the Roborock S5 max? Seems to have a similar feature set at 1/3 the price? Surely there's a catch?
According to one of the Amazon Q&As, the OZMO 937 is the same as the 930. You can find reviews from 2019, but this appears to have first launched in 2018:

https://www.techhive.com/article/...eview.html

I can think of a couple catches: it cannot store multiple floor maps. Presumably this model isn't currently being sold through normal channels, so these are probably overstock units from... pre-pandemic? If it was manufactured a long time ago, the Li-Ion battery might be in very bad shape.

Vacuum Wars on YouTube didn't review the 930, but it has reviewed the newer flagship 950 & 960 models very favorably. The 950 beat out the Roborock S6 in numerous areas such as power and battery life.

Is it ok to go with a non-Roomba? I always thought the industry standard with a long history and many replacement parts would be better.
The problem with Roomba is that they all use VSLAM instead of LIDAR for mapping. They don't work in the dark and are not as accurate. Not to mention, Ecovacs and iRobot just signed some kind of technology agreement, and it looks like iRobot might start selling Deebots as Roombas in the US market.

I guess being a pioneer doesn't make iRobot smart.

The reviews for the app are really awful. Seems to have a lot of issues. The vacuum can still be used without the app, but you wont be able to use the mapping function.

My old Samsung has been too abused, the price point is right, plus I have hardwood, which seems like this could be nice if the mopping works well.

That sucks... Because $130 for a lidar robot vacuum is pretty good. Maybe that's why they're selling so low because they might stop app development on the software?

That's because this thread is a sponsored one so they nuked the amazon one

They REALLY need to start disclosing when these threads are paid-for.
