Until our digital purchases are in the form of some kind of Non-Fungible Token, and we own them independent of the store fronts, accounts, and devices we purchase them on - and can sell them to other people, then I'll continue to buy Physical when available. Currently, digital goods on these stores are literally worthless unless you are planning to sell your entire accounts. Literally the opposite of what you said. Yeah... no thanks.
Let me know in 5 years, or 10 years what all those 3DS games are worth. Or how many you are going to play over and over and over again in the next decade to make it worth it.
This is coming from a guy who has a bunch of NES/SNES/N64/Genesis stuff.
don't waste your time hoarding and living in the past, find other ways to "create value"
I literally said that I will purchase digital games over physical games if they had the security of bitcoin or NFT's and you actually own something instead of just leasing it. You have not made a single, viable argument for buying Playstation games digitally over physically.

People here just like to argue for the sake of arguing. I personally like to buy physical when it is available and similar or less price. I also have lots of things digitally, because they were overpriced for physical editions. Some people like to buy digitally for convenience even when physical is available. That's completely fine, but to argue that a literal valueless leasing of a digital product is a better investment than a physical product is just absurd.
All-time low price
Edit: ROFL, its a little absurd that people even have to argue the benefits of owning something versus LEASING something.
You have a very narrow definition of "ownership" and seem to think that you can only own something if you can resell it. A digital game is something that is owned, but the only way to resell it is to sell your console and account tied to the license.
Do you own a half-eaten banana if nobody wants to buy it from you? Do you own your underwear if nobody wants to buy them from you? Do you own a broken down home in a bad neighborhood if nobody wants to buy it from you? Then why associate "ownership" to ability to "resell"?

The current PS5 drive fills up VERY fast, and I am not sure when there will definitively be an SSD upgrade for the PS5 (it will come, but cost and timing are questionable).
Granted, this should be an easy "fix" and a no-brainer because for the PS4, it's all in the name of protecting PS4 trophy integrity. But until Sony actually does something about it, just be aware of the possibility your discs could still be coasters.

fyi, It affects digital & physical games when the coin battery dies after about 10-15 years, then when installing a new CMOS it needs to reconnect to sony servers just b/c of sony game trophies. if sony eventually removes system servers (like ps3 & psvita is most likely in their last server year currently), then no reconnect can happen, & games cannot load & show a system error.
