After small physical notching to a Porter Cable 20v battery, you can use Porter Cable batteries in all Black and Decker 20v chargers and tools. You can also charge a B&D battery in a Porter Cable charger after notching. However, to use a Black and Decker battery in Porter Cable tools, you need to physically cut the Porter Cable tool. Plenty of videos on YouTube. I've personally notched B&D and PC batteries and it is very easy with a dremel or even a straight razor (with some patience). However, I've stopped short of cutting my PC tools to accept B&D batteries.

I bought one two weeks ago for the same price.

I picked this up the other day - along with the circular saw - multitool and jig saw - I have a pile of porter cable batteries from other tools and previous Lowes clearance of batteries a few years back.

Old craftsman 20v or the 'new' lowes craftsman 20v batteries? I thought they swapped the polarity on the new craftsmans.
Its an older battery, but I'm sure YOU can MacGyver a fix for the new ones.

Does anyone know if this can use Dewalt batteries with some sort of modification?

Thanks. I couldn't find any adapters anywhere online. Is there any way these would mess up my DeWalt batteries? I don't care if it could end up messing up the Porter-Cable tool since it's so cheap

I can't imagine it would cause any problems. All the tools care about is getting 20V from somewhere. Sort of like how any brand of AA or AAA batteries can work in any TV remote.

I did not post the deal because each individual Lowes had a different prices at that particular time. I bought a Porter Cable Sawzall a week ago for $32 bucks. Same scenario. Not going to post the deal unless you can duplicate it in another locations.

I've only got B&D Batteries and chargers, so it looks like I'm going to have to cut this PC Grinder, to get it to accept my B&D Batteries.

Doesnt look that hard, from the video on YouTube, if you have a Dremel...

YES. IF you leave it connected to the adapter, it will drain n kill the battery.

With these adapters, use them and then disconnect the main battery

Same here. It's going to be interesting doing the mod on one of my batteries...
Just be careful. I punctured a tiny little 3v 300MAh lithium battery once and it immediately puffed up and hissed before I could even react, and I was fortunate that it stopped there (I had shorted a contact but when I freaked out and let go, it unshorted just in time).

Lol just noticed that someone went through the initial thread thumbs downing most posts about modifying the BD20V batteries. Sorry to offend 🤣.
