Honey says this was as low as $165. Might not have been at Walmart but it was available for that price on 5/25/21. I would say wait if you're interested and it may go back down again.

Picked up this refurbished samsung a few days ago for $242: https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/192359625

It's being delivered today and I was thinking I would return it if another good 50" budget TV popped up for $200ish during this weekends sales but I think I'll probably stick to the samsung for $40 more over this. Let's see what else comes up though in the next few days.

I don't know how true honey price reports are. I bought mine on 5/25 for $203 as I was eyeing this TV and price for a few days being on the fence of whether or not to buy it due to the price. It is actually out for delivery right now. I saw that it had a cheaper price a few weeks before. If I don't see a dip in price lasting for more than two or three days, I usually go with the thought that those price dips for one day may be a fluke. But then again, I'm not an expert on how the honey price drops reporting works so someone may be able to clarify that. Sometimes I think someone goes in there and reports a price drop, even if it is not real to throw off the pricing of the item.

Have you tried it? The "effective refresh = 60Hz" line scares me. No idea if you can still buy 40-50" 4K TVs with real 60Hz displays in this price range anymore. Note that for strictly desktop use, game-mode (I hope this has it) should be adequate (my 43" 4k TV was locked into this mode until I discovered that the 10 bit color was the problem. It really wasn't a problem for most desktop use).

Any TV can be a dumb TV if you don't plug in the ethernet port. Expect Smart TVs to be cheaper as they spy on you and sell your data for more than the cost of the ethernet (or more likely, the cost of not deleting the ethernet).

Purchased thanks. Samsung plasma finally died..

First time diving into budget brand. Lot of complaints about sound. Hopefully arrives without being damaged and sounds okay, it's for family/kids room.
