For these truly hideous watches with a $20.00 quartz movement!
Is it any wonder why Invicta is seen as a lame joke of a watch company?
Their early history was nice but everything went downhill quality wise after that.
They use some of the Seiko movements as of recent I believe which are fairly good as far as quartz movement go. They do have a habit of making the MSRP unrealistic, however, it's mostly for marketing purposes.
Some folks do kind of like their diver series and their bulky aesthetic. They're also frequently "borrowing" designs from other well known makers like Rolex especially or Tudor.
It's marketed towards a certain demographic- namely folks who want a watch that looks "expensive" and bulky with a certain aesthetic, for a very affordable price
I used to collect watches from 2009-2015 ish. The first was a Skagen, followed by a few Invicta's. Bought a total of maybe 10 Invicta's, but sold half of them. To date, I still have 30 watches in my collection from a dozen brands. The quality of Invicta's from model to model, even despite buying directly from World of Watches (which owns the Invicta brand) and costing the same varies drastically. The one I had that looked like a Speedway watch was impeccable in terms of fit and finish (looked very expensive). Some were atrocious. The MSRP is in no doubt totally made up. For the same money, you can get a very nice Seiko or Citizen where you are guaranteed to get a specific level of quality for the sticker price.
They make some decent beater homages like the 8926OB for those of you who like a sub but aren't in the two or three comma club. My 8926 with the newer Seiko NH35a movement runs more accurately than my Seiko Turtle. My older 8926 with the Miyota movement absolutely sucked with time keeping. Great watches to take fishing or beat around and looks even better on a NATO.
A few things. 1. These are hideous 2. They're not worth nearly $1300. I wouldn't even consider them to be worth $130 3. I'm not even a watch elitist. I'm literally wearing an invicta pro diver right now.

I'm actually a fan of this pop artist, but these watch designs don't do him justice.
