Triplets are Swedish and Quadruplets are from a secret lab in the basement of Cal Tech. Those last two are hard to find but I picked some up at Marshall's a few weeks ago.

Edit: if you want sharp thin edge, the Nexus series is on sale. Those blades use American's BD1N steel at 63 HRC, even slightly better than Japanese VG10.

Made where??
The Nexus 9.5-inch Chef's Knife is made in China.
Is it duplicitous that this knife is called "American" but made in China?
The BD1N steel the knife is made with is made in America. The knife itself is put together in China.
We are making steel here, shipping it to China, they make blades & knifes and ship it to us?
Since I bought my brother the Chef knife, using any other knife in the kitchen feels like slumming it. Now I have a few more options!

AMEX refunded all my money within literally ten minutes. They will close the dispute in September if they don't get a response from Zwilling, which they probably won't, and I at least get a free five star 6" carver that was also part of the order.
Since it's already all written up, I may proceed with a BBB complaint anyway as well.
That's it for Zwilling - after the Macy's screw up and now this, forget it. The companies that make the top-tier Japanese style knives in China pay attention to you and will do backflips to make you happy, and their knives are actually a joy to care for and maintain.
