I have used to it to cook foods that require high temps like stir fry and I cook it outside instead of in the house. Don't have to worry about too much smoke in the house. It's also great for cooking with items that might splash or pop. I lay a paper towel down on top first and then the pot of pan. Makes clean up easier and no it doesn't burn the paper, at least I've never had it happen.
If it's crowded either on the stove or to many people in the kitchen I can use it on another counter or in another room. It's very versatile. I've noticed when using this unit it doesn't output a lot of excess heat into the room/house.

It also allows to set timers. Like when cooking white rice I prefer to use this as I can set a timer for 8 minutes on low to cook the rice and then it will automatically turn off so it can rest for 10 minutes. Easy and great tasting rice, better then a rice cooker.

When using this outside I run a 12/3 25ft extension cord and never go higher then level 6 out of max 8 so I don't over load the wiring in the extension cord. Just keep the wattage lower. Most meals shouldn't use more then 6 anyways.
I also have a lower powered unit I think 1400 watts that I use as well. These are great to the point I've started to look into induction stoves to replace our electric coil stove.

You might find some more information in the thread below, where it was a FP deal at $34.99, albeit over a year ago.

Wouldn't you need a powerful generator to power this thing?

Bought one last year for like $20-30. Totally worth it. It's great for hot pot but I've seen a few you tuber chefs use this too and it seems to be holding up well. 1800 watts is as high as you can go. Several different power levels. I'd buy again if my current one breaks

Hope it's not as noisy as my current one. Getting this as backup.

Sadly everything now seem to be made of touch screen. I don't like it much myself.

Us too, we literally use this model every day. We like it better than using a regular cooktop.

It's not a touchscreen. It has physical buttons.
