Yeah, the high-pitched noise at certain temperature settings is really annoying for sensitive ears.

Have induction ready pots and was considering this for fondue. Anyone happen to use one for this purpose? The existing fondue set we have jumps from 'luke warm' to 'boiling cheese' when you move the dial a micrometer and it's a pain to clean because the bottom layer always burns.
