Also since one channel of DDR4 is soldered, youll always be stuck with the slower soldered memory because of how dual channel works.

How is 4.2 lbs "gaming laptop" weight?? Most others at their lightest are 5 1/2 lb+ and are much larger and bulkier. Also not sure how a mobile 3060 is "measly" especially given the TGP 80 to 95w vs last years 2060 on the g14 being 60w and still being able to give 1080p ultra 60+fps on almost all triple a titles, so not sure how that's "measly." However given all this I would still wait until next year as rumors suggest a 5nm Ryzen CPU, DDR5, PCIe4, and Thunderbolt.

I've purchased multiple gaming laptops over the last few months (don't ask me why Smilie). This has always been reasonably easy to obtain. The 3070 version was sold out for a long time but it's also been back in stock for weeks now (albeit at a $50 price hike).
