Basically the support falls on party lines, unless it can be worked into a reconciliation bill or they blow the filibuster it's not happening.
Edit: just for clarity, didn't want to get the politics argument going on this more just a realistic view of whether the credit will get added to make this a much better deal.
2021 hatchback with a few amenities...
(Don't have a relative/friend that works for GM.. would have saved me $15-20/month)
Lease 30k, $1300 down (first month + all taxes and fees) with all incentives available inclui Costco)
$325/ month.
Uhh...no
Uh....no.

If you use power during the 10 PM - 6 AM time period, some areas its cheaper. I plan on setting up a family members time to charge on a timer for only during this time.
This format is more common in Commercial Properties, but its slowing transitioning to residential.
I had bad experiences with Chevy dealers from the Spark EV $109/month lease deal a few years back. The original dealer that offered the deal took my information to supposedly call me back when they get more stock. I went to the actual dealer and saw they had a few on the lot so I inquired about those. They played games and told me something along the lines that those were reserved already. I followed up several times and they said they would get back to me (they didn't). When I went on Truecar to price out a lease, they are a participating dealer so I selected them. I got a call back shortly after and they sorta yelled at me (from what I remembered) for not being patiently waiting for them. Keep in mind that the lease incentive deal had an expiration date. What I can put together is that they had limited inventory and they wanted to keep those to sell or lease on non-special terms. It would've been fine if they were just being upfront about it... But car dealer being car dealer.
I went to a different dealership asking if they can match the deal. Again, they played game and wanted me to take a test drive before they talk number. After the test drive, they gave me a standard rate that are being offered at other dealers. One of the salesman acted like he would lose his money if the dealer gave me that deal. He demanded the name and the sale person of the one that offered the deal which I did. A kind SDer shared the lease sheet with me so I knew it wasn't BS. At that point, I had zero interest in doing business with them after that. Being honest would saved them time and effort, but I guess car dealer gotta do car dealer thing.
After that, you save every time using it since electricity is cheaper than gas.
Hybrids are the worst of both worlds and have been shoved down our throats as a stop-gap.
I hope the Senate Bill passes that increases Federal Tax Cr for EV cars. [reuters.com] I'm sure this would supercharge EV sales, as the Tax Cr would become: $7.5k (imported), $10k (assembled in USA), or $12.5k (assembled in USA w/ Union labor).
You mean PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), not plain Hybrid? I personally think the PHEV is a good option for urban/suburban dwellers that are able to go EV for most of their short commutes/trips. Long trips, gas kicks in. The RAV4 Prime is a crazy popular PHEV right now; 42mile EV range (some will get more, some will get less), and a surprisingly quick 0-60 time of 5.7sec.
One meticulously owned Bolt, even after taking his car in for recalls and updates, went up in flames in his garage. This owner worked in IT and was very familiar with lithium ion battery care. Very sad.

I plan on buying an EV for my next vehicle, but I'll think twice before buying GM

Once you get to ur destination, what make you so sure you wont need to drive to somewhereelse? (Food? Bar?)
The Costco discount is SUPPOSED to be limited to the dealers who participate in the Costco Auto buying program. However, being a free competitive market, there is nothing preventing a non-Costco dealer from matching/beating the Costco discount. I know Costco members who have tried to get dealers to beat the Costco pricing; most were unsuccessful. A few, were successful; BUT the effort, time, and annoyance to achieve that was NOT worth it for them at the end of the day.
NOT all dealerships want to participate in the Costco program b/c they are supposed to adhere to the terms when dealing with Costco members: no haggling, pre-set LOW pricing for vehicle and whatever options member wants, Costco discount unique to Costco member via Costco Auto Buying program, provide invoice to member always (doesn't have to be requested), and a designated employee to deal w/ Costco referrals. When dealers adhere to the terms of participation, Costco members have a good purchase experience. But, as Post #52, pg4, shows, there are BAD participating dealerships, unfortunately. A member can complain to Costco, but Costco will wash their hands of any responsibility b/c the Auto Buying program is managed by a 3rd party.
Screen shots of the steps should appear. NOT that difficult to click the Costco Auto buying link, enter your zip code, select Chevy or click the Chevy banner ad.
1) ENTER zip code
2) CLICK visit external link.
2b) A NEW WINDOW OPENS. SELECT Chevy or CLICK the Chevy banner
3) CLICK Get Started 2020/2021 Bolt
4) ENTER info into the fields.
Was that so hard?
To say this car wasn't meticulously cared for is plain ignorant. You're probably recalling a different owner. They took the car in for all previous recalls and never charged to full. Car has less than 20k miles.
Is the issue fixed? Probably?? Did this instill the kind of confidence I want from the company. NO

The problem with them being the worst of both worlds is that they aren't efficient because you have to lug around a gas engine 100% of the time (every day on your commute) for something that you're going to only use 1% of the time, i.e. when you take a long trip . And the fact that you're lugging around a 500+lb gas engine reduces the efficiency on the EV side. And then you're ALSO stuck maintaining TWO systems.
I know, different strokes for different folks. But I'll say this...for my use case, a 250mi EV like the Bolt its the bill very nicely even if the DC fast charging is slow. I am commuting with it, and I MAYBE take a long road trip once a year if even that often. Most of the time, my road trips are within a single DC fast charge in both directions. (My in laws are about 150 miles away, and the beach and some nice cities to visit are within 275 miles or so. My parents are about 600 miles away.)
And it isn't impossible to take a long road trip...you just have to plan for longer stops/more often stops. That's about it. Most of us have to bio and/or stretch every 3-4 hours anyway, so a typical 15 min stop might become 45-60 min instead. On let's say a 750 mile trip, you're looking at maybe an additional 3 hours each way? Yeah, that sucks, but it's not undoable, and I think that the longer breaks might make the drive more endurable.
Take a look at "A Better Routeplanner" website for an idea on what it's like taking a trip. From San Diego to southern Utah, I can stop one two times. Stopping to charge is not as big a deal as I thought it initially might be. You just get used to taking a break to walk around and many time Tesla super chargers are conveniently located to shops or food.

I can PM you the details if you would like, but the deals are going to be different now. I hate trying to compare car deals, there are SO many different variables. I just picked a number I could live with and I went with it. Some may have gotten a better deal in NC, but I am not sure.
