Based in a quick search: power shorts. Simulated means it's not using efficient power draw so it can add noise and cause damage. Pure sine wave is accurate power draw and is safer for sensitive equipment. It varies by device.

My pc has 1000w psu, 11th gen i7 and 3090 would this be enough or should I wait for higher model? I do not really get blackouts or power fluctuations (our town has its own power plant) and I still use my CyberPower APC which is like 10 years old at this point but was never used aside from few shutdowns on my older less powerful computers I had before before I moved here. Display shows battery health is missing one bar.

It's amazing how there is always something to learn. Pretty sure this is why my current PC, using one like this, is turning off in the middle of a game where power draw is kicking up (and the PSU exceeds requirements for the rest of the system).

How long do these UPS' last? What do you do into once the battery dies? My last APC died after 9 years but barely saw any action. Technically it should have lasted longer.

The batteries last a few years. At least two years. Four is pushing it. You can replace them for $30-40.

Thanks. Debating whether to just buy replacement batteries or buy a new one. Last one wasn't sine wave.

If you're "techy" enough to need pure sine, you're better off picking up a battery-less apc smartups 1500 for $100 or less. Battery replacements are $40-60, and you'll have something prosumer grade that'll last a good 4-5 years before needing another battery swap.

Don't pay those ridiculous eBay prices. Offices throw these in the dumpster when the batteries get flakey.
