Just FYI. I've had this installed for about a year. The motion detection is pretty naive and generates false "person alerts" all the time. A passing headlight, a bee, whatever. I tried changing the detection zone and the sensitivity settings, and gave up.

Can this be set to work with an existing wired door chime? I like our regular chime and want to keep it!

Wifi on this was a pain to set up and sometimes takes hours to reconnect (after reboot of the router).

Dumb question - does this need a WiFi connection onsite or can it be used on say construction sites without internet?
needs wifi connection on-site

I have two of The wired ones. My complaints are.

They 100% rely on Eufy servers for authentication. No internet no cameras, even locally. Eufy goes under, your cameras become worthless.

"Data Securely Stored: Every moment is stored locally on the Wi-Fi doorbell chime inside your home via advanced encryption." Except you need to connect to a server outside your home to access this data.

The only things they are compatible with is Homekit, Alexa, Google. They aren't even compatible with other Eufy products. No support for blueiris,Home assistant, hubitat, IFTTT etc.

They promised RTSP but that doesn't look like it's happening. The thread on their forum has 150+ replies about RTSP. Eufy ignores them all.

The app has built-in offers that occasionally popup unless you contact them to disable them. The app also has a built-in community that Eufy doesn't monitor.

Motion detection is mediocre at best. For me Amazon if fast enough, can come and go undetected 45% of the time. But every night it detects my car wheel as a human face flawlessly and repeatedly.

YouTube reviews are all paid shills that barley used the product.

Pros:
Image quality comes with a plug in chime.
No monthly fees.
It comes with a wedge to position it better.
The price.

Horrible motion detection, you simply can't make it work reliably. I've tried everything and I'm one of many. Funny how their 2k indoor camera mounted outside works miles better facing the same direction. Kind of wish that I never bought it, it's either a person alert every 5 minutes when it rains or is windy or no alerts for a week even though I picked up the mail every afternoon
My motion detection works fine with respect to detecting people. My issue is that I get a lot of "false" detections. Shadows, wheels of cars, stuff like that. So much for their "AI technology" to recognize faces... But all in all, it does what I need it to do, for the price I'm happy with it.

LOL if you know why these Eufy brand doorbells are on sale you also know you want to avoid them like the plague.

Not a good deal currently with the state of their products.

I do wish OP and other posters would do more due dilligence on their own end before posting deals.

Whenever a class action lawsuit, huge data leak, or recall happens, those products inevitably end up on "sale" on the front page of Slickdeals.

So I know this is the only chime that offers an SD card slot upto 128gb. But does anyone know if you can sync the eufy 2k door bell to this? I also noted this doorbell is the only variation with no terminals in the back to keep the battery charged.

What would be the best way to utilize this Chime with a 1080p or 2k eufy door bell that has terminals.

TIA

That's exactly what I meant Smilie False positives are really bad and if you turn the sensitivity down a tiny bit your mailman becomes a ninja in training and if you adjust it up a bit your driveway lamp becomes a human head apparently, mine do at least.

It aint on the poster to do that. Its on you the consumer. This is slickdeals a deal site. Not consumer reports. 'Ain't no body got time for that'

My only concern is how easy do people steal them. I want one but still debating. also is there anyway to waterproof it with hard wire power?

Diddo

I contacted Eufy about the poor motion detection and they replied their AI for motion detection isn't very good. I thought that was pretty sad because that's one of the main reasons to have a video doorbell.

Some nights I get alerts all night long about motion detection, other nights, nothing. Pretty inconsistent.

I'm only keeping it for now because I don't have to pay a monthly fee for storing the videos.

All cameras do that unfortunately, I have a blink camera and it did it all the time for shadows and bugs. I'm switching because blink is delayed with notifications
