YOU may not "see" a difference but "The fact of the matter is" the AQ portion from BD to object based soundtracks(Atmos/X) is a significant one when done properly but I doubt you would understand, it's a QUALITY thing! π

The book was a super dry, clinically written story. The movies have all made an attempt at morality tales.
A lot of not-yet-proven scientific things were thought pretty well through at the time - invisibility/x-ray vision has had a long history of terrible understanding of light.
