I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Planning to call and remove her from the account and then apply for her. Any insight as to if I should wait to apply or if once she's removed we can get it?
Wait for the following reasons:
1. It takes from 2 weeks to a month for "the system" to "recognize" she has been removed for purposes of applying for Sapphire.
2. A better offer will likely be available at Chase branches starting June 17.
Not sure about smarter just lazy. I told them step by step easy instructions to go to Kroger, buy 2 $500 prepaid cards (so you can use the payback with points) then paypal or venmo the remaining 3K to meet MS so we shall see. Some people have a hard time getting the MS but I always use the services to avoid the headache.
Aaah, you have great info. on MS that should be added to a wiki. I am sure that 4K threshold is the single biggest reason people are hesitant to apply for the card.

Does the COSTCO cash/gift card count towards the $4K or will it be considered a "gift card" not eligible for meeting the $4K threshold?
anyway to tell how long you have had your card? I can't remember when I opened my Sapphire preferred. Also, Can I close it and reapply for it the same day? My wife has a Sapphire reserve. I can probably transfer all my existing points to her.
This is bad attitude. You should be happy for others. Not, "I got ripped off so others too, should"
When did I say others should get ripped off? I'm glad for those who have a better offer. Can I not express that it was unfortunate that I missed a better deal by a small timeframe?
Yes; log into your account online and look at past statements. Alternatively, you can say "open sesame" and hope some random stranger on slickdeals will be good at guessing what's specific to your situation.
I was just asking if there was a Chase website that I was not aware of or something similar... my gosh
Does anyone know how long it takes for a Sapphire card to be removed from an account after product switching? I swapped my Sapphire to an ultimate flex yesterday. The CSR said I would have to wait 31 days to be able to re-apply for the Sapphire preferred, but I have read other people say 3-4 days.
I do qualify for the 48 month bonus rule, and am fine on 5/24. It's just the time until it shows I'm not a sapphire card holder that I want to be safe on so I don't get instantly declined.

So, it seems I would be eligible. Now my only obstacle is how it may effect a potential loan.
