I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Can someone give me some advice? I have a CSR card with 200k points in it. I would love to apply for this card. .y option would be to downgrade my CSR to a Freedom card and then apply this card. Am I be losing .ore by losing the 50 percent extra which I can as pay yourself back.
Your current 200K points are theoretically worth $3,000 assuming that you can redeem them all at $0.015 per point. If you were to downgrade the Chase Sapphire Reserve and redeem the 200K points at $0.0125 per point, they would be worth $2,500; a loss of $500.
The 100K points from this Chase Sapphire Preferred deal are worth $1,250, when redeemed at $0.0125 per point.
That would leave you a net gain of $750 by downgrading your existing Chase Sapphire Reserve (-$500) and opening up a new Chase Sapphire Preferred account (+$1,250).
Notes:
Regardless of whether you redeem points at $0.015 per point using the Chase Ultimate Rewards card or at $0.0125 per point using the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, there are issues in redeeming points.
1. Points redeemed for travel booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards. I've found two problems booking through C.U.R.: First, availability and selection may not be as good as booking elsewhere. Second, the travel price quoted may be higher than booking directly.
2. Points redeemed with the Pay Yourself Back program. The main problem with using this method of redemption is having enough qualified purchases before the September 30, 2021 deadline. Purchases used to meet the $4K minimum spend requirement are not eligible for the Pay Yourself Back program.
3. Opportunity costs foregone by making purchases using this credit card. Spending using this card means losing out on points accrued using some other credit card. E.g., groceries purchased using the Chase Sapphire Preferred card earn 1 point per dollar. If you used an AmEx Blue Cash card instead, you could have earned 6 points per dollar.
4. These direct point redemptions also disregard the possibility of converting points to other travel options (United, Hilton, etc.) that may have significantly higher value.
A couple of questions:
1. I currently have a Business Plus card (for personal use because of their good promo 5 years ago), but not a Sapphire card. Am I eligible?
2. If so, I currently have around 30k points on my existing Business Plus card. If I get this, is there a way to transfer the points to this card and close my existing card? Don't want to continue paying the $90 annual fee on two cards.
Chase Ink Plus Business Credit Card does not affect your eligibility for the Sapphire card.
I've had Chase Ink Plus, Chase Ink Bold, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Chase Sapphire Reserve accounts. Switching points between accounts was never a problem. https://www.cnbc.com/select/how-t...ds-points/
However, I'd advise you NOT to close your Ink Plus account. Instead, convert it (downgrade it) to a free Freedom Flex or Freedom Ultimate account. I like the 5% rotating categories of the Flex account, but you might prefer the Ultimate's 1.5% back on all purchases. In either case, the account is free and will maintain your account's credit history. Make sure you request the full amount of your available credit to be transferred, too, in order to maintain your existing level of credit availability. (Not sure if they will or they won't grant you this request, Business accounts are treated differently from Personal accounts.)
Just went into the branch. The in branch offer is still the same as before: 80k bonus points with annual fee waived for first year. So much better to apply online.
I believe the in-branch offer will be upgraded to 100k on the 17th, but any applications starting now will get the additional 20k.
so if I still have a regular Sapphire card, can I cancel it and then apply for this? My last reward was over 48 months ago but I downgraded the card and still have it active.
I believe you have to wait 4-5 days before applying.
I just got it thanks! After I get the bonus I'll go back to my Freedom Unlimited 1.5%. (It's nice to be able to pay rent on a credit card! It's like a rent rebate.)
As long as you don't pay a fee for doing so. Most places I've seen charge 4% or more; which completely negates what you get back in points.

Hmm they charged me for the annual fee even though i signed up for the 80k deal... Should i call?
There's also the lesser known Chase Sapphire (can downgrade to, but can't apply for it directly). Only downside is you can only have one card in the Chase sapphire family. So either you have the CS, CSP, or CSR. I assume you can upgrade again but probably after a period of a year or so again
Thank you I did not know about CS, I will definitely apply then!
That was when the Reserve first came out with 100k offer. So quite a while ago (5 years).
....I realize now that's probably outdated and I'm probably grandfathered into some stuff.
It's best to disregard my opinion if others are saying you can't have multiple Sapphire products. Sorry!
Chase changed the rules a year after the Sapphire intro. My wife and I got two Preferred and two Reserve, we still keep her Reserve, and I am trying to open a Preferred for myself again. Interestingly, when I login to my Chase, the ad is there, but without a link to proceed. I had the bonus in August/Sep 2016, so well beyond the 48 months. The points are handy for travel. I would keep the card if it is $95 annual fee. It was $250 before, which was not worth it to keep it open.

Modified double dip.. idea is to sign up for both the CSR and CSP within a day or so to get both bonuses. Google it.

Sorry, PC requires 4-5 days before applying and I think cancellation requires that you wait a month or so. Confirm though.
