I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Here is how mine went down. I think I still screwed up.
I walk in and as expected, the rep had no idea. She pulls up my account and only sees 80K. She says she will verify and then only apply. BUT. She did not do anything. She made me sign the application and I under-reported my income to keep my credit limit low. I only reported $90K gross. I was instantly approved for a $17K credit line and then she called the support "back office". They confirmed that the 20K extra points should be automatic. She also had them expedite my card (leaving on Wednesday for a trip) and said I should be getting my card in 1 to 2 business days. SO. Hopefully, Tuesday.
Here is why I say I screwed up. I have no idea if they waived the $95 or if I will get the $50 grocery credit.
What do I have to do to verify the $95 is waived and I will get the $50 and how do I get the $50? Is it automatic once I charge $50 or more at the grocery store?
Call your branch to confirm. I confirmed with my rep that mine was waived +$50 for groceries. Yours should be too.

If you look at the paperwork the banker probably put in a folder for you, it's on the third page right under "FEES". Mine says Annual Membership Fee $0 Intro fee for the first year. After that, $95.
The 80K points and $50 grocery offer are mentioned on the first page with your telephone #.

Okay. She did confirm that yes those are the benefits of signing up in the branch namely 80K points, $50 credit and AF waived for first year. I said those things and she said yes.
But I did not see anything in any of the screens I signed. She never turned her monitor for me to see either.

I wasn't given ANY papers at all. I already see the new credit card account when I log on to Chase.com
Just called my local chase branch. The bank confirmed about the 100k, $50 grocery credit, and waive 1st year AF. They also told me i can only have one Sapphire card and i already have the Sapphire Reserve...

If your current card is more than 4 years old and you earned a bonus more than 4 years ago, you can look into downgrading, waiting 4 business days and applying again in-branch.
I am authorized user on wife's card. Anyone know if I can open new and still be eligible?
Yep you can, we just did that. I am the primary on our Sapphire Reserve and my wife is authorized user, we just applied for the preferred under her name and she is approved right away. Go for it!

Yes you are right. I just applied today in branch and approved for 100k points , 1st year AF waived , $50 grocery credit.

I wouldn't worry too much. I signed up today also and my rep did show me the screen that outlined the annual fee waiver and $50 grocery credit, but it was a separate page from the ones she had me sign. And she showed me the same memo that's in the doctorofcredit post, so that screenshot is legit and it also mentions those 2 benefits.

Thanks for the reply. I also have a Chase Freedom - if I downgrade the Sapphire - what can I downgrade it to?
