I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Data Point - Downgraded CSR to Freedom on June 11. Checked Chase app and can see the ability to apply for CSP. Went to branch and rep did not see CSP offer on my account. Will try again after 4 business days passed since downgrade.
I'm in the same boat as you. I downgraded my CSR and CSP to CFF and CFU. Today, the CSR 60,000 point bonus shows up, as does the CSP, but I can't click on the "Learn More" button for the CSP. Hopefully works tomorrow.
I'm kinda tempted to apply for the CSR as well for the 60,000 points to do the MDD, but I don't feel like taking 2 dings to my credit report. The CFU that I downgraded my CSR to is giving me 3% back on dining anyways. I already signed up for the Amex Plat and the WoH card, so 3 cards is plenty this year.
Honestly that's what exactly happened. We called chase and they said it was not coded as groceries but as gc hence not counted towards your 4k....I wanted to share it so others are cognitive of this and could suggest other ways of fulfilling the spend
I've personally bought tons of gift cards (NOT prepaid VISA, MC, AmEx cards which might be considered too close to cash equivalents) to meet Chase's bonus requirements: Home Depot, Amazon, local grocery marts, McDonald's, Domino's, and local restaurants. Every one of them was credited.
However, none of these purchases were in the last two years. It's possible that Chase has tightened its policy towards gift card purchases.
To date, I haven't seen warning flags raised in any of the popular travel or credit forums about such a change in Chase's policy.

š you are spot on....i was shocked when my wife told me......cuz I have also fulfilled a lot of spends using this trick but it does looks like chase has now changed the policy unless someone else here could confirm otherwise

I had the same problem that you had. See my posts in this thread for how I was able to apply. Unfortunately, you may still be denied the branch benefits. For your best option, speak with a banker, get them to call Chase, and get the person they speak to say that you can still receive the branch benefits (because it's a result of a glitch in THEIR system) even though you can't apply at the branch. Get the name of the person your banker speaks with!

Thank you for sharing. It might work to make a small purchase of goods along with the gift cards. Make sure it all rings up on one transaction and does not have a nice, even number indicative of a gift card.
signed up the week before for 80k, called to try to get it matched for 100k. I was told by the rep the only way they'll match is if iI get targeted for the 100k offer directly within 90 days. Well, today i got a targeted email to sign up for 100k bonus. I SMed and got denied. I called to see what's up and basically told me that the previous rep lied and they can't match offers.

I have an appointment for tomorrow with a banker. I spoke to her and she confirmed that I'll get 80k+20k and the waived annual fee. They all had a meeting about it today I guess? Hopefully the Learn more appears because I don't want her to not get the full bonus.
Just got my card today. I was able to get the first year's annual fee waived. My question is when can I product change the preferred to a no annual fee card? Will I be charged $95 before I can product change?
Congrats! How many Chase credit cards do you have and the overall credit Chase has granted you? Do you know the credit limit of your CSP? I have 4 credit cards by Chase with $27K overall credit. I am afraid my CSP app will be denied and waste a hard pull.
I only have a Freedom card w/ Chase. $12.5K CL. New Sapphire card is $13.1K. Someone else said they may readjust your CL's to accommodate the new card. Didn't really matter to me since I don't need a ton. I don't need another credit card but couldn't turn down the huge sign up bonus!
how long did it take you? I applied last Wed and haven't heard anything yet.
I applied on Friday morning. Was approved by Monday automatically. Thanks to the tip here, I sent a secure message and my new card will be expedited too. Now I need to pay everything with this card. Auto insurance, umbrella policy, and car registration will help me get there soon enough. Charging all my food to it will probably be the most $.
100,000 Bonus Points:
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months
Fine print states ANY Sapphire credit card, do they mean Sapphire Reserve as well? If you have a Sapphire Reserve can you still get this 100k promo deal?

It doesn't give the option for a foreign country at sign up, so don't want to waste and application if it's auto denied.
