I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

If you take the time to investigate, there are a lot of expenses that you might be able to prepay.
For me, I can prepay my Cricket Wireless, electric bill, and water bill with no upper limit as to how much I can prepay. (I'm currently paid up through August for my electric and water bills and up through November for Cricket Wireless.)
If you're having a hard time meeting the $4K spend threshold, I suggest you make a list of all your monthly expenses:
- Groceries (you can buy grocery store gift cards)
- Rent (check with your landlord on credit card payment options)
- Utilities (check for pre-pay options)
- Gas (buy pre-paid gas cards)
- etc.
- etc.
And if you still need to generate more spending, then purchase Amazon GC or other store cards (not VISA GC ... Chase might consider that too close to being a cash substitute).
If purchasing gift card such as amazon, Costco... do I need to buy in store? Someone mentioned about buying online will be flagged as cash advance...
Over the years, I've purchased tens of thousands of dollars of different types of store gift cards (not prepaid VISAs, MasterCards, or AmEx). Most of the purchases were made online. However, other people have occasionally run into trouble ... even when purchasing a store card in store. The following discussion chronicles one such incident:
But then again, there are reports from people who made retail purchases that didn't get properly credited for them because of the stores' improper coding.
So, there's no guarantee you'll be credited for any type of purchase.
(My experience with coding errors is that Chase will require you to get the vendor to change the coding of the purchase, Chase will not make the correction simply because you say it is so. I did not follow up with the vendor because the dollar amount wasn't enough to justify chasing it down the rabbit hole.)
Anyone know if I still qualify foe the bonus if I had and since canceled my Sapphire Reserve (not Preferred)?
It doesn't matter whether it was a Reserve or whether it was a Preferred. In either case it was a "Sapphire" and the rules apply regardless of subtype.
You do not qualify for this card if you...
... Received a Sapphire bonus within the previous 48 months.
... Presently own a Sapphire account.
... If you opened 5 new credit cards (from any financial institution) within the past 24 months.
P.S. Being an authorized user of someone else's Sapphire account DOES NOT count as owning a Sapphire account and any bonus received counts as their bonus, not yours. However, being an authorized user of any newly opened credit card DOES count toward the 5/24 rule.
Downgraded chase reserve on Friday to Freedom unlimited. Yesterday applied for sapphire through app, today applied for reserve though app (two times - one declined), both finally got approved. Both times had to call reco to move credit around to qualify. Now have to figure out how to meet the spending limit.
was wondering how did the reserve got approved when you already got approved for preferred ? Only one Sapphire family card be active any time ? thanks a lot in advance
for the people who signed up in branch, did you see the actual screen that shows the $50 grocery credit? I signed up the other day and the banker told me she didn't see any grocery credit. The screen only showed 80k plus waived AF. She called in to ask about the 100k bonus and they confirmed to her the bonus of 80k plus 20k. Just wondering as many here have stated the $50 grocery credit, but I didn't see it on the sign up screen. My friend also signed up in branch today also and the banker had no idea about the $50 credit...
When my banker flip the screen to tell about the bonus points and annual fee waived for 1st year for applying in branch, she never mentioned the $50 groceries credit. It wasn't in the bullet points I don't think. But I saw the sentence about $50 grocery credit. It was like the last sentence of one the paragraph. I even pointed it out to her.
So the $50 groceries credit was definitely there when I applied in branch
I haven't applied for a cc in years. Both my wife and I have a high income and good credit. Right now we have one cc with both of us on it. Should we each sign up for this card separately? Is this possible? Sorry, I'm sure this is a dumb question. Thanks

yes you can apply separately to scoop the sign on bonus from both your accounts

Assuming that your one credit card isn't a Chase Sapphire and you haven't received a Sapphire bonus within the last 48 months, then the only thing that would preclude you from signing up for separate cards at this time would be your ability to meet the $4K minimum spending limit for each card.
Chase will treat each one of your applications separately. The fact that you are married and doing simultaneous applications is irrelevant to them.
I'm flabbergasted that you only have a total of one credit card between the two of you! You must charge everything to a corporate card. Even at that, it is surprising that you've managed to get by with only one card.
Is there any way to buy a store card to somewhere like Costco to get the $4k spend then after being credited ask for a refund in cash from the vendor ?
Or sell said gift card on raise etc ?
Or for those of you with a business run a charge thru your business and pay the 2.9% fee to stripe. $29 per $1k needed. Does this make economic sense ? What is the cash value of the points ?
anywhere to buy Bitcoin
/eth with this without 3 percent fees ?
I qualify for this but would have a hard time hitting $4k in spend in 3months.
I opened the card at a branch and the client manager there told me that I can get 100k points even though the screen showed 80k. But when I logged into my account today, it still says 80k. For those who opened the card at branch, do you have the same issue? The account manager did not give me any proof of 100k bonus.
When you log into your account, where do you see 80k or 100k? I can't seem to find it.
