I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Can't have any Sapphire card currently (CS/CSP/CSR) and if he cancels the card then he might have to wait a month to apply -- have him convert the card to any Freedom card then wait a week before applying for new CSP with your link
Might also want to consider lowering credit limit on existing card(s) if he has too much credit with Chase -- makes it easier to get auto approved for new card
Thanks! You meant converting the no-fee Sapphire to Freedom needs one week's waiting but cancelling it needs one month's waiting before new application? What if he already has the Freedom card?
so tempted... is this the one where you can transfer points from regular freedom to this and then to Hyatt card? if so I might jump on it.
Also how long does it usually get to get the card? I have to pay home insurance, car insurance and that alone is close to $3k, but only got like 2-3 weeks for that.

Get another Freedom there's multiple versions of it (CF/CFU/CFF) -- I had two regular CF's in the past so you can have multiples

Regular mail is usually about a week -- you can ask for free expedited shipping after approval (they'll send it by UPS so you should get it in 2-3 days)
Finally applied to it and I'm glad I waited. Now I hope I'm able to transfer my 70k points from freedom card to this card and then to my Hyatt card.
Also compared to BoA where every time I apply to a card they shrink the credit from the other ones I have and give it to the new one... Chase just gives me 18k(I know is not much) for every new card I get from them, it is like they don't care if you max them out and then are unable to pay back.
No, you will be still eligible. Your eligibility of the sign-up bonus is based on whether you received the Sapphire bonus in the past 48 months. Signing up in branch is better than doing it online unless your friend or family member qualify for the $200 referral bonus. Your initial application did not go through since your credit report was locked. You should go apply in branch after you unfreeze your credit report.

Dilemma: I applied online but forgot to remove credit lock. So fine, I can remove the lock and they can run my credit. I just found out about the added benefits of applying in person in branch (waived fee, etc). They are allowing me to cancel the online application if I want, but my record will show that I applied.
Does the fact that I already opened an application mean that if I then go apply in branch, will I not qualify for the promotion?
First, the rep was wrong. You are not eligible if you received the similar Sapphire bonus in the last 48 months, not account closure in 48 months. Chase only allows customers to have one Sapphire card. What you can do is ask for a product change to another no-fee card, say Chase Unlimited, from your no-fee Sapphire card. Once done, wait 3 to 5 days and then refer your spouse to apply. Do not straightly close the no-fee Sapphire card because it would take up to 30 days to update on Chase system. By that time this offer will probably have expired.

Husband opened a CSP in March 2017 and received the 50k bonus points and possible some bonus points later for adding me as an AU. He downgraded it to a non-fee Sapphire card in Feb this year.
I just opened mine yesterday and want to refer him by July 17 (supposedly the end date of this promotion) but have two questions:
- A Chase representative over the phone told me today any previous CSP card had to be closed 48 months ago at least to qualify for this offer. He even said a new application would be automatically declined if this condition is not satisfied. He had a strong Indian accent and the information is inconsistent from what I knew from this site, so just want to confirm he was wrong.
- Suppose he was wrong and my husband only needs to have his previous CSP opening bonus received more than 48 months ago, does he have to close his non-fee Sapphire card before applying for a new CSP? If so, is there a period of time required between the closing and the new application?
Chase clarified that every one who applies in the branch will get 100K + zero annual fee in 1 year + $50 credit. Unfortunately even though it is a billion dollar company, it only appears that you will get 80K.
I want to apply for CSP to get the 100k bonus, but I have a bunch of points that I plan to use at the end of year for travel. To use the points at 1.5x, I need CSR. I understand I cannot "upgrade" CSP to CSR until after one year. I am thinking to have my wife applying CSR, and I can transfer my points to her account to use them at 1.5x. The issue is, she received a CSP bonus 2 years ago (account is closed now), so it has not been 48 months. Will she be able to apply CSR without the sign-up bonus? Or she must meet the sign-up bonus 48 month requirement before she will get approved for CSR?
just got my CSR letter informing of increase in fees. i guess its a no brainer now to downgrade then apply for this (was thinking to keep CSR for 1.5 X points).
mini app o rama w this and MS plat
edit: what card specifically can this be downgraded to?
also will i lose my offer that i did ($50 off att)

Thanks for the info. The in store rep didn't know anything about the additional 20k or the $50 grocery credit.
