I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Spent the 4k but only seeing the 80,000 points in the dashboard that will credit next statement. Is there a way to trigger the 20,000 points and grocery credit such as installing the app? I applied in branch a few weeks ago...
I can now empathize with the people complaining about the customer service.
Wife's card got declined yesterday night. We assumed it was the merchant as there were no alerts/emails/banners on the Chase site while logged on, or on the Chase app indicating any issues.
Today, the card declined at Vision Works where we realized the problem is with Chase on a 2 day old card.
Called and was directly placed over to Fraud Department. 30 minutes hold later, it turns out, they "soft locked" the account because we had changed the main phone number (they have both the cell and home and we just swapped them as they were labelled incorrectly) and tried to use it at a merchant we have never used the card at before. Well. The card is new. How could we have ever used it at that merchant before?
Any ways, after a lengthy verification process, they claimed the card is now unlocked and good to go.
I believe that the problem is we use our GV number as primary (in case our cell numbers change) and Chase system is not able to send any text messages to GV. So, we have no idea if the alerts were indeed sent or not.

You likely already got the extra 20K.
Don't just go by the point credit tracker. That bar will ALWAYS say 80K. In the details of the rewards you will see you earked 104,xxx points already and the last transaction that took you over the 4K will have 80K, 20K and that transaction's worth points all broken up separately.
When is "a few weeks ago"? The 100K points offer started in early June. If you applied before that, it would be 80K points.

To date, Chase still hasn't updated its app for in-branch applications.
OFCOURSE it hasn't! That's because eff 7/19 in branch, Chase is offering the "GREATEST EVER OFFER" on the CSP with waived first year annual fee (but no $50 grocery credit). In the mind's of the Chase marketing people, their in-branch offer up to 7/17 was only 80K (+waived fee+ $50 credit) even though on the back end they were giving the additional 20K points.
Now you know the Chase marketing team is living in a warped world.
I honestly don't trust any Chase reps regardless of what department they work in. Back when there was a retention offer for the CSR, I called in and the retention rep told me I had a $250 retention credit available. I called back after not seeing the credit on my account and they told me to wait 2 billing cycles. After waiting 2 billing cycles, after not seeing it hit my account I called back and they told me that there was no such retention offer available on my account. Then, they sent me multiple letters indicating that there were no retention offers on my account. Such BS.
The online offer will be extended. The in-branch offer with $50 grocery credit will end today. If you intend to sign up in branch, I suggest you still go sign up today. You will get denied of course due to your credit report being freezed. Then call the recon line to have them re-process your app after you unfreeze your Experian credit report. In this way you lock up your application date as of today and will be still eligible for the $50 grocery credit.

Mother Fing Experian website is down and can't unfreeze over phone it just directs to the website or mail. WTF.... Guess I shouldn't have waited.

My google voice can receive (and does) text messages.....
I canceled my Sapphire Reserve a month ago (got the bonus over 48 months ago).
Applied for the Sapphire Preferred yesterday in branch and was approved instantly.

Interesting... thanks for the info. I'll go and do that. Redic that their website is down AND phone system won't even unfreeze even though it farking asks me all the info like start and end date!
I didn't make it to the branch last Monday but I'm glad they are extending, even if it is without the $50 grocery credit. Will hopefully make it there this week.
