I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

5. When your wife's old CSR has cleared Chase's system (typically 4 to 7 days after changing product), sign up for the new CSP card via your referral.

How do you know if you should wait 4 or 7 days? Just wait 7 to be sure?
No one will have a concrete answer about how many exact days it takes for Chase to complete the downgrade. 4 to 7 days is just an estimate based on the past data points. If you don't have the patience to wait, you may schedule a phone call with your banker and have the banker check on your profile over the phone. If the banker says the old Sapphire card has been cleared and you are eligible to apply, then you can either go to the branch to sign up and have $95 AF waived, or apply online via a referral for 20K referral bonus. If the banker says not eligible, then wait a few more days. Schedule a phone call is simple. Just go to Chase website to do it.

I tried reading through quite a few of the recent threads but did not see this so apologies in advance if needed.
I just downgraded my CSR to Chase Freedom Ultimate. Almost immediately (within 1 hour of the phone call) the card was auto renamed in my Chase Portal, Ultimate Rewards and Samsung Pay as Chase Freedom Card and my point balance has transferred over to the freedom card.
Do I still need to wait 5-7 days before applying to the CSP or does the above mean that my transfer is complete?
Thank you

I have a credit score of 800, and was denied! Whatever.
Follow this guide using credit carma and see how many cards you opened in last 24 months. I got denied by Chase few months back, and i checked I had 5 cards open - so i'm waiting till the 5th one drops off in rolling 24 months in October or so. This should be the reason you got denied.

I had 5 open. The Sapphire is my 6th open account and I have 3 closed accounts.

From the link. In short, Chase restricts card approvals to applicants with less than five new credit card approvals in the previous 24 months.

Sorry, I don't know. No one knows. Some people have gotten their old account cleared in two days. Others have taken longer than 10 days. It's a crapshoot.
How lucky do you feel today? (Rhetorical question, no need to respond.)

It's still in the system. Chase has redundant (duplicate) history tracking systems that will block your Chase Sapphire Preferred application until the old account is completely purged.
Where in the chase portal can I see how far I am (progress made) in spending $4,000? I remember seeing this somewhere on the site but I cant find it anymore.

There is a thread search up top. I simply searched for reconsideration in the thread search.

I just came back from living overseas for 10 years. That might be the case.
