I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Is this a decent card for Disney World, Universal Orlando, or even Disneyland trips? I'm going to all 3 parks before the end of 2021 and staying on property at all of them.

God bless you if you can move that much in CC purchases a month. I mean, I guess you can pay everything with the CC and the pay it back at the due date.
I paid estimated taxes with it, since I'm an independent contractor. 2% fee but still well worth it. No way I could have spent that much otherwise. Paid it off immediately.
Question about "downgrading the card" after getting the points: I use my points mostly to travel so I'm guessing I will lose the ability to transfer the points to a travel partner right? And if yes, is there a Chase card with no fees that allow this?

Transferring to travel partners is a function of your Ultimate Rewards membership. Any Chase card that offers UR points will work: Chase Reserve, Chase Sapphire, Chase Freedom. The rate of redemption when transferring to a travel partner is the same, regardless of which card you use.
However, the redemption rate for making travel arrangements directly through the UR travel services differs. 100% (penny a point) for Freedom / 125% (1.25 cents) for Sapphire / 150% (1.50 cents) for Reserve.
Both the Chase Freedom Flex and the Chase Freedom Ultimate cards have no annual fees. Flex has rotating quarterly 5% bonus categories. Ultimate is a straight 1.5% points for all qualifying purchases (basically everything qualifies except for balance transfers, cash advances, and cash equivalents).
EDIT: I stand corrected. Transferring points to travel partners is only available with the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve cards.

I thought transfer to partners are ONLY available for premium cards like Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Limited? If it is there for free cards as well - why bother keeping the Sappire for $99 per year - does not have much benefit.

That is right. Many (most?) Sapphire users choose to discontinue their card after one year.
Note: For Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders, the decision is much more complicated. For those that can take full advantage of the travel benefits, the Reserve is worth more than the $550 annual fee.

That's what i thought - I remembered when these cards originally came out - that was on of ther selling points - transfer partners. It is the same with Citi Thankyou Rewards - only you have the premium cards, you can transfer thankyou rewards to partners.
Thanks for the heads up on Sapphire rumored benefit changes. That extra 10% annual bonus would be nice. Plus $50 hotel credit would be very nice as well. Hopefully, they come through - DOC says they'll announce it on Aug 15th - we will see.
Chase has been so nice to me with all rewards - i will keep at least 1 of this $99 car. Definitely downgrading my Chase Reserve - just not worth it at $550 upfront payment.

Exactly. It's usually the people with giant families that have no problem spending this much in a drop of the hat. For the rest of us it's a struggle.
I sell stock to pay my bills so I never pay my credit card off until the due date. I believe in having every penny invested for as long as possible. I think having an emergency fund is not a good use of funds. But you need to have alot of extra funds for this strategy to work since stock market can take a dump at any time. Even with a 50% drop, you need to be sure you have enough to cover expenses.

From what I read in previous posts, grocery credit is no longer offer as of July.
So any extra incentive for august by going in person instead of online ?
