I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

He's just a naysayer of everything here and simply a troll. Don't bother to take his comments too serious as his comments have never been contributive.

Naah, applies to everyone.
In fact if you open FEW cards, it applies even more because things like reducing your total available credit or shortening your overall history hurts you worse if you don't have a ton of other cards.
I feel like you're leaving out a few steps between the money and what ends up in the toilet

It won't affect your score much. If you are over 800 and you close this the second you redeem your points, you'll still be over 800. Don't fear monger people into keeping this card open. If you don't want it, close it. Your score will be fine.
I'm an authorized user on my wife's Chase Freedom card with quarterly 5% back categories. Can I transfer points from my authorized user account to my primary Chase Sapphire account? I know it's possible from primary to authorized user so wondering if it would work in reverse if I called. Keep in mind my wife and I do not have joint bank accounts and she has kept her maiden name so will I run into a verification issue?

It will work. You will just need both credit card number when you call to have them perform a transfer of points from one account to the other. Once they've done it once, it will show up on your chase dashboard to perform the point transfers on your own.
I just did this last week and it took like 10 minutes to get it all done.
My wife's in-branch application got denied (cited as unemployed). She has investment income though. In this case would she be able to re-apply on-line sometime later? Any advice?
She can always use household income when applying for credit cards. In fact, it is legal under the CARD Act of 2009 and a 2013 update from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Call the Reconsideration line 888-270-2127 two days after the application date and tell Chase she did not include the household income on the app. Also tell Chase all other possible income you may have.

Pointing out there's zero upside to cancelling early (or at all compared to downgrading) and there is a downside to doing so isn't fearmongering- it's fact mongering.
First you claimed it didn't hurt you at all, now you're moving your goalposts to it won't hurt you "much"
All for no benefit whatsoever. In fact, loss of benefits since you've already paid the annual fee for the year but would be pointlessly giving up the benefits that come with the card for that year for... nothing other than a "won't hurt much" credit score ding.
MUCH smarter to keep the card for the year, then if you have no use for it after that, downgrade to a free one for the credit-score reasons already described.

just apply it online and select self employed and random annual income...
I just applied at a branch and can confirm they waive the first annual fee of $95. My rep couldn't find the bit about the grocery credit, but it's still a great deal.

Are you illiterate?
Yep! That's if you do the cash back. It's worth $1250 on points redemption or more if you optimally use it.

Ditto. I applied today and got my annual fee waived. The $50 hotel credit is the new standard annual perk though rather than an in branch offer.
