I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Thanks for this . When you went to bank the 2nd time , did you tell them you had a card already? Did you make appt in advance?
Ya it was actually the same guy from my previous trip and he recognized me, so yes he looked me up as a current customer. I was going to ask him to try the guest method this time if needed but it wasn't necessary. I just walked in to try, I did attempt the phone appointment this morning like others have mentioned to see if they could check really quick. However, I was told they couldn't do anything with credit cards over the phone and wouldn't even look to see.

Yup, although if I knew anyone who had the card and would split referral I would have gone that route to save the trouble and get more out of it. I'll probably refer the wife soon.

Agree - if eligible, this card will pay for itself. You can always downgrade after 13 months if you feel you're not getting your money's worth or dont want to pay an AF.
Why after 13 months ?
Can I downgrade it within one year ?
Just going back and fourth to a bank in person hoping you're eligible when the referral is a simple link on your phone/computer and done. No biggie though, again the 20k points is worth more than $95 fee waived.

You can't have any Sapphire card open currently (CS/CSP/CSR) + must be 48mo since any Sapphire bonus payout + must be under 5/24 (google "chase 5/24")

You can product change only after 13 months for a new card
So you get first fee waived or not , then 2nd annual fee gets charged you can likely downgrade to a no fee in the 13 month and get fee refunded
