I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Are most pointing cashing out for travel points or just straight cash? Just curious what the norm is. I know travel is "worth" more but CASH talks lol.

I downgraded my CS (regular) last week to Freedom Unlimited. Been a week or so. May try to hit up branch next week to sign up for this and get all the bonuses.

Thanks, in fact I am thinking to upgrade the freedom back to CSR after receiving new CSP.
I remember one DP reported that he was able to do that, because chase does not allow applying another sapphire card while already have one, but can upgrade existing nor sapphire card?
If that is doable, 100k can be redeemed up to 15000, other than 1250, the difference of 250 can cover the annual fee for CSR if considering 300 travel credit.
Why don't you try the MDP MDD discussed with you earlier in this discussion thread? If you were approved yesterday, you're eligible today and today only. You'd get 60K CSR sign-up bonus plus be able to do the CSR redemption of your 100K CSP sign-up bonus.

For me, since I'm not travelling much at the moment, I'm taking advantage of the Pay Yourself Back 25% bonus to get statement credit for food/groceries. Figured I might as well take advantage of that since the bonus is currently set to expire on 9/30.

What are you referring to? I just got pre-approved for a mortgage. Would this affect me?

IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR A MORTGAGE DO NOT APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL CREDIT! ESPECIALLY A CREDIT CARD!

If I had travel plans, I'd keep the points and use them for travel. However, since there is no travel in the foreseeable future, I've been redeeming the points for cash. By the end of this month, I'll have redeemed all of my points under the Pay Yourself Back program.

My wife refuses to take the COVID vaccine. While she's in a high risk group and should take the vaccination, she's afraid to take the shot. With no end in sight for the COVID situation, it doesn't look like we'll be doing any travel for a while.

If you can maximize the card's $300 annual travel credit, it will be enough to cover the hefty $550 annual fee of CSR with the extra $250 redemption value. In addition to the travel credit, you also enjoy other perks such as Priority Pass membership [thepointsguy.com], the application fee credit toward Global Entry/PreCheck [thepointsguy.com], $120 in credits toward Peloton memberships [thepointsguy.com], the Lyft Pink membership [thepointsguy.com] and up to $60 per year in DoorDash credits [thepointsguy.com]. CSR also offers purchase protection, extended warranty, rental car coverage, trip cancellation or interruption insurance, trip delay reimbursement, lost luggage reimbursement, and medical emergencies during travel, etc, which together make it a no brainer if you are allowed to product change one of your Chase card to CSR. Kindly report back.

In regards to the $300 travel credit, we know any typical purchases coded as travel such as airline ticket, hotel, cruise lines, will earn the credit. What many people don't know is spending on campsites, trains, buses, toll bridges and highways, parking lots and garages will also be eligible. Just beware of purchases on theme park tickets as they could be coded as entertainment instead of travel. Similarly, meals eaten at a hotel but not charged to a room will be coded as restaurant/dining instead.

Yes, you will get 20K referral bonus points once your friend is approved. He will get 100K points when meeting $4K minimum spending requirement in 3 months. He will need to pay $95 annual fee since referral can only be done via online application. The $95 annual fee is waived when signing up in-branch.

Can I refer my friend to this card (i'm an existing Chase Sapphire member) and then they get the 100k, my referral bonus but there's still the $95 AF?

There is no plan to spend another 4,000 US dollars, and I don't know very well whether MDP will trigger a chase bank audit and take back the card?

Also I am almost sure the application for CSR won't be approved unless I call Chase reconsideration, because my CSP was not approved instantly, have to call to move some credit line from other cards.
As soon as chase recon finds CSP in my account, I do not think they can approve CSR.

If you don't follow the steps, yes, you will have to call to move some credit line. One of the steps is to take care of that detail before applying. However, I take it you've made your decision and that's perfectly okay. Peace

The MDP MDD is not the same as submitting two applications at the same time. It is one, followed by another.

If your second application is found ineligible (for whatever reason), it will simply be treated like any other ineligible application. It will be tossed out. Nothing will happen to your first, approved, application.

As to the spending requirement, here are a few tips:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15070267-chase-sapphire-preferred-card-spend-4-000-in-first-3-months-earn-100k-points?p=147904261#post147904261

For myself, I can easily bankroll $4K into my electric, cable TV, and cell phone accounts (I take care of 2 homes, my family's and my mother's) and many times more than that if I wanted to delve into property taxes, insurances, income taxes. And that doesn't even touch any of the gift card options.

Not trying to convince you to do something you're not inclined to do. Just pointing out that meeting the $4K spend threshold may not be so monumental a task as it seems. Glasses2

Is there a way to maintain a Ultimate Rewards balance by going through a PC (CSR to Freedom) and then applying for the CSP? Seriously considering getting rid of the CSR for awhile as I'm not travelling as much as I used to.

Or is the only way to transfer that balance to someone else and have it transferred back over to you later?

Most people change from the Reserve to a Freedom and have their points automatically transferred. Transferring to another person's account is an option, but is not necessary to preserve your points.

If you're interested in preserving the exact same account number, here's a tip from Tazmania99:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15070267-chase-sapphire-preferred-card-spend-4-000-in-first-3-months-earn-100k-points?p=149675896#post149675896

Note: Regardless of whether you do a product change to a Freedom Flex (MasterCard) or a Freedom Ultimate (Visa), your credit history will be preserved. Changing account numbers does NOT mean changing account history.
