I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Sorry been out of the loop. Been looking to apply. Is there still an incentive to apply in branch? do I need to say anything or just get approved? TIA
The incentive is to get the $95 first year fee waived when you signup at branch (YMMV), however if you know someone who can send you referral link you guys can split the $200 referral bonus so you can payoff the $95 fee and your buddy gets something. Otherwise it's the same now.

No more hotel/grocery credit? Also how will I know if I get my first year waived? Thanks

No grocery credit I believe. Hotel credit is still there but it's there for both online and branch. You'll know the fee is waived because banker tells you and it won't show up on your statement first month (that's when it's due if it's not waived I think).
Thanks! Can she still get the first year fee waived and grocery credit if I send a referral? I thought that was only in person at a branch?
No grocery credit. That offer expired in July.
There is a $50 hotel credit that was added in August.
Your wife has a choice: in-branch application ($95 annual fee waived) or online (with a 20K referral bonus, if one was so tendered). The offers are mutually exclusive.
Note: The referral must be done by someone already having a Sapphire Preferred account. The bonus goes to the person making the referral, not to the person signing up.

it's weird cuz i referred my wife, and on her chase/ultimate rewards app, the 80k/100k bonus meter is not showing up. i already got the 20k bonus points from her opening the account.
what's a huge purchase/spending that i can charge if i have 20 more days for my 3 months anniversary? i already paid my 6 months car insurance. can i pay for my mortgage etc? i only spent $600 so far, damnnn.

Yes, you can make mortgage payments via Plastiq[plastiq.com], but you'll pay a premium for such services. If you go that route, start immediately ... it takes time to set up.. EDIT: Mortgage payments via Plastiq not available for VISA cards, only MasterCard works.
If you have a mortgage payment then surely you must have utilities, cable TV and internet services, mobile phone, property tax, property insurance and other such bills that you can pre-pay if you investigate payment options.
Lastly, you can always purchase a couple thousand dollars worth of gift cards. I'd suggest purchasing proprietary gift cards, like Home Depot, CostCo, McDonald's, Macy's, or the like. You might want to select vendors in the Home Improvement, Grocery Stores or Dining categories to take advantage of the Pay Yourself Back categories for points redemption. (Others have reported success purchasing VISA and MasterCard prepaid cards ... but I've personally shied away from making such purchases.)

I don't know much about the app. Even though I downloaded the app in order to track my purchase totals, I never got around to using it. (Didn't need to track my purchases because I burned through the $4K in the first two weeks due to emergency vet bills and truck repairs.)
Oh, yeah... if you're looking for ways to spend money, just pick up a "free" kitten. If you're lucky, you can end up paying 3 grand in vet bills in the first month of ownership ... plus cat food ... kitty snacks ... cat litter ... cat deodorizer ... bed ... kennel ... toys ... food and water dishes ... scratching post ... etc. ... like me!

Very helpful, thank you! Where do I go to send her a referral?

Yeah, I think I'll do mostly Costco, Sam's club and Home Depot gift cards. Gift cards bought from 6 these retailers will qualify for pay yourself back?

Should I just apply via this link for CSP if I simply want a product change? Don't want to lose the credit age on my card. Thanks!
