My local Dollar Tree stores sells an off-brand 3-pack for $1 (used to be a 6-pack for $1). So $0.33 per pad is my benchmark.

Yes, off brand is always the better buy per pad. But I was referring to Swiffer brand in particular if that's what the user was asking.

Are these wet when purchased or dry, then you have to spray the floor to release the cleaning chemicals?

This seems like a good deal, but I don't know whether I want to keep committing to swiffer. Feels like I'm constantly buying refills since they only go so far in large rooms, and we mop every few weeks. I'm really tempted to scrap my swiffer and just get a regular mop. Curious what others here do for their mopping solutions.

Try reusable pads. They are basically cloth and therefore washable. Usually 1-2 pads for around same price as the disposable pack and can be used a lot longer. Basically same idea as mop but can be washed in laundry, not to mention the environmental benefits.

Swiffers work for us in that we like to not have to carry around a bucket. But there's those times when you need a bucket & mop & that spinny one is awesome in those cases.
