It seems that one of the most noticeable differences between the C1 and CX is the reds. The CX displays red as more of an orange-red and the C1 displays purer reds. Also, in the side-by-side comparison, the C1 seemed to have more clarity/detail.
The superiority is slight.

From what I hear they're not that much better. Very slight improvement

It is pricy, but these are widely regarded as the best TVs you can buy today.
That said, if you can find last year's model for a couple hundred less, that's a better value. This year's is better, but not by a lot.

Thanks - I've got the 2019 Q90R QLED from Samsung. Been wanting to make the switch over to LG as I'm pretty fed up with Samsung... These OLEDs look great, and seem slightly better-tailored for gaming but I've stayed away due to burn-in concerns (tend to leave a single game paused for several hours at a time regularly). The 4 yr protection would give me a lot of piece of mind (hopefully their isn't much hassle in filing a claim).
Totally agree about 8k content. I have the same model as you btw. Unless we come out with some new type of media format every 8k movie will have to be on multiple discs. I couldn't even imagine how many discs for an extended cut lord of the rings movie lol.
I just hope 8k does not try to force us all to digital…when it does progress. I like actually owning my movies.
Burn in is a possibility with OLED, yes, but real world tests have shown it to be less likely than you expect. And I can't speak to PlayStation, but Xbox goes into a screen saver if you leave it alone for very long, and the TV itself has some protection measures for static screens.
That said, if you intend to leave the game paused for several hours, consider turning off the TV. If nothing else you'll save a bunch of electricity.
