I started watching a lot of comparison videos between the CX, C1, and Sony A80J because I wanted to be sure which one would be the better investment. Here's the notes I've written so far based on the side-by-side comparison videos I've watched:

Clarity/dimensionality: A80J>C1>CX
Motion: C1>CX(?)A80J
Brightness: CX>C1(?)A80J
Gaming: C1>CX>A80J
Reds: C1>A80J>CX
Greens: A80J>C1>CX
Yellows: A80J>C1>CX
Skin tones: C1>CX(?)A80J

It seems that one of the most noticeable differences between the C1 and CX is the reds. The CX displays red as more of an orange-red and the C1 displays purer reds. Also, in the side-by-side comparison, the C1 seemed to have more clarity/detail.

Cable/ Satt provider can barely handle 1080/720 resolution. Current streaming sites can only offer ultra compressed 4K content. Unless they invent a new data compression algorithm that will not degrade content quality. I do not see 8K being of any service to anyone except professionals.

Here's a youtube link to a comparison of the C1, CX and C9: link [youtube.com]

The superiority is slight.

I don't understand why everyone is all about the accidental. It's a huge tv, mount it on your wall and you're done. How is it possibly going to get broken? Do you play racquetball in your living room/man cave?
It could broken while moving. My neighbor had to replace his brand new TV after leaving an upright 11x15 area rug across the room, it fell over and it went straight for the TV screen!

Plus people with kids can tell you horror stories of kids throwing metal toy cars at the screen.

A few weeks ago, there was a guy here at SD commenting of how he laid down the TV face up before installation. He took his eyes off of it for a few seconds and when he looked back his toddler had walked onto the screen.

Tempting... Are the 2021 models noticeably superior to prior year's model?
I think my old
C8 is brighter than the newer cx and c1. Why I haven't upgraded.

I have a 2016 C6, and Burn in was very easy to get with built in apps like youtube, while being careful. No idea if this got improved since.
I have an old c8 game for hours every week I notice no burn in

4K Streaming is actual less quality than 1080 Blu-Ray.......

A new compression formate will allow 8k, which will probably look like a 4K UHD disc.

Totally agree about 8k content. I have the same model as you btw. Unless we come out with some new type of media format every 8k movie will have to be on multiple discs. I couldn't even imagine how many discs for an extended cut lord of the rings movie lol.

I just hope 8k does not try to force us all to digital…when it does progress. I like actually owning my movies.
8k is pointless unless you go large screen and capable projector.

Any effect of 4k over 2k is debatable unless 85"+ screen and at a reasonable close distance.

Wide color palate, hdr, brightness, inky blacks, calibration will produce more noticeable effects.

Just chiming in.... I picked up the 77 cx refurb from micro center for 2500 6 months ago. My tv is literally on 12 hours a day minimum. No problem whatsoever. Ps5 and xbox series x work perfectly. Picture is beautiful...

Added a sonos arc soundbar and sonos subwoofer and the experience will leave you thinking it was worth every penny. If anyone is on the fence about lg oled take the plunge. Burn in is literally if you leave the same picture for days.... not to mention almost all services have screen savers now to avoid this problem.

Trust all the positive comments and treat yourself to the cx or c1... you deserve it!
I'm a bit jealous. I wish I had picked up 77 instead of 65. I have the same setup with xsx + sonos theater system (Ikea surround).

Everything is great except for the small software issue with LG tv... sometimes the sounds get cutout when switching inputs (going from YouTube to xsx)...i found a work around but it is annoying. I think Roku interface is better but lg software isn't bad.

I have a 77 CX and have seen some killer deals on that as of late. This deal is a great deal for a TV that just came out , but if you can snag a 77 CX for sub 3k , I'd go for that since there isn't anything substantially different with the C1 than the CX

Prices seem reasonable for what you get. I have a 2019 65 CX that I hope to upgrade soon - not sure if I want to wait for the 8k version…content alone has a long way to go.
Just curious. What will you do with the CX when you upgrade?

The guy who allowed toddler near a $4k TV, deserved to get it crushed by the toddler. This is some really shitty planning.

It looks like the 65" has the 4 year warranty but for some reason the 77 only shows a 2 year warranty.

Do you play racquetball in your living room/man cave? The Costco deal for $3050 with 5yr warranty+burn in was the winner for me. I don't get how this is even worth posting at $450 more... Sorry 250 more if you take out the 200GC but even that you have to pay tax on (twice). Far from the best deal on this.
Children, parties, pets, angry wife.

You are right if you are single and alone you probably never have to worry.
