It seems that one of the most noticeable differences between the C1 and CX is the reds. The CX displays red as more of an orange-red and the C1 displays purer reds. Also, in the side-by-side comparison, the C1 seemed to have more clarity/detail.
The superiority is slight.

Plus people with kids can tell you horror stories of kids throwing metal toy cars at the screen.
A few weeks ago, there was a guy here at SD commenting of how he laid down the TV face up before installation. He took his eyes off of it for a few seconds and when he looked back his toddler had walked onto the screen.

C8 is brighter than the newer cx and c1. Why I haven't upgraded.
A new compression formate will allow 8k, which will probably look like a 4K UHD disc.
I just hope 8k does not try to force us all to digital…when it does progress. I like actually owning my movies.
Any effect of 4k over 2k is debatable unless 85"+ screen and at a reasonable close distance.
Wide color palate, hdr, brightness, inky blacks, calibration will produce more noticeable effects.

Added a sonos arc soundbar and sonos subwoofer and the experience will leave you thinking it was worth every penny. If anyone is on the fence about lg oled take the plunge. Burn in is literally if you leave the same picture for days.... not to mention almost all services have screen savers now to avoid this problem.
Trust all the positive comments and treat yourself to the cx or c1... you deserve it!
Everything is great except for the small software issue with LG tv... sometimes the sounds get cutout when switching inputs (going from YouTube to xsx)...i found a work around but it is annoying. I think Roku interface is better but lg software isn't bad.
LG: heres the same tv as last year for $1000 more.
