I started watching a lot of comparison videos between the CX, C1, and Sony A80J because I wanted to be sure which one would be the better investment. Here's the notes I've written so far based on the side-by-side comparison videos I've watched:

Clarity/dimensionality: A80J>C1>CX
Motion: C1>CX(?)A80J
Brightness: CX>C1(?)A80J
Gaming: C1>CX>A80J
Reds: C1>A80J>CX
Greens: A80J>C1>CX
Yellows: A80J>C1>CX
Skin tones: C1>CX(?)A80J

It seems that one of the most noticeable differences between the C1 and CX is the reds. The CX displays red as more of an orange-red and the C1 displays purer reds. Also, in the side-by-side comparison, the C1 seemed to have more clarity/detail.

Cable/ Satt provider can barely handle 1080/720 resolution. Current streaming sites can only offer ultra compressed 4K content. Unless they invent a new data compression algorithm that will not degrade content quality. I do not see 8K being of any service to anyone except professionals.

You will get the Boom either way, that's a simple mail in rebate from that's good on any LG oled bought in the US. As of a few weeks ago when I was still considering the LG, you actually get the next boom up since they ran out of the lower model. (i seem to recall you get a boom 7 instead of a 5)

With the prices you gave, I'd have to go with the C1. The C1 has better gaming than the CX and probably has the Evo panel. When i was thinking LG my debate was whether the C1 was worth 500 more than the CX, you'd be getting the C1 for less

Who knows?? I've seen reports that all US C1's have the evo panel and in the past week or so I've seen other reports giving out a code you can enter into the C1 to make it as bright as the G1. Now stories have LG saying the Evo panels don't even exist and it was just a marketing tool. Many of the experts have stated if your c1 has a slight pink tone on a white screen that's proof of the evo panel, and most US C1's have that.

No. The boom deal expired on 5/23. What is Evo panel? Is it better?

From what I've seen, the best sign of an evo panel is that after the TV has been broken in, say 100 hours or so of use, that when set on an all white programming or diagnoses screen you will see a vague magenta or pink hue especially around the edges. Someone posted this picture on an AVS forum which is an example:

The evo panel is not that big of a deal. It supposedly has 20% better PEAK brightness, not overall brightness, so flashes of light will stand out a bit more. Most experts have stated it is not really that noticeable. Supposedly it only has been activated in the G1, though as I said earlier, there is a code out which when entered into a C1 supposedly activates this, though if I bought an LG I'd probably research it a bit more before trying.

Thank you. Did you manage to check the review of rtings.com on C1 panel. They did mention that they got very poor panel (looks like) and that they expect that doesnt repeat to anyone else. Also this is new tech (on C1 with webos 6.0 and game optimizer mode) that is still not yet tested much where as CX seems pretty much reviewed everywhere. So in a dilemma to pull the plug on C1 from VideoOnly store. And the biggest concern is their return and refund policy..They dont offer refunds even if there is manufacturing defect and only offer store credit or exchange. Here is their policy, which worries me. Costco is super easy for returns and refunds, Yes I would be ending up an year old model (but it has raving reviews and widely tested in this one year, less issues) for 300$ more than C1 which is new offered from VideoOnly. Man, cant really decide. What do you say?

Here is the VideoOnly return policy (i got response from them through email)

Does buydig charge tax in cali? I got an offer from verde "T" for $3,199.00 thats all i'll pay. However no extended warranty which is $220 in their site.

Yes. You should try VideoOnly if you are in california. They are selling C1 at 3K (if you negotiate they will sell it including tax, i got the offer of 3K all inclusive including the 5yr warranty)..

BuyDig charges whatever the sales tax rate is wherever you live. That's a main reason i ended up at the toe

My prob is i cant pick up the tv from there. I live in LA. I dont have car big enough to fit the tv

To me Video Only's return policy is fine. No, you can't get a refund, but so what, you are in this to get a TV. If there's a problem with it they are willing to give you a replacement or credit for another. Like I said before, if I lived on the left coast I'd haul out my Transit Connect and drive to the closest Video Only in Oregon ASAP so I'd not only get a great price but also no tax.
Go with what you feel comfortable with. I'd go with the C1 even at a small premium just because it's the newest model, but that's just me. If you feel better going with the tried and tested CX do that. To me the advantage with that is you get 2 years of a direct Costco warranty. As I've stated before, I place very little value on the 3rd party warranties, but the 2nd year Costco itself offers is worthwhile.
