He's saying they charge $100 for 8gb of ram, you can buy 8gb of ram for $22 less than they charge….
The 5600G is a good gaming CPU. It trades blows with the i5 11400, for reference. It is a little more power efficient than current Intel CPUs.

The iGPU in this is vastly superior to any iGPU from Intel currently available, but that doesn't make much difference if you're making use of the 3060. If you pull the 3060 for another computer, the 5600G leaves you with a little PC that can still actually game at 1080p. Current AMD integrated graphics are impressive.
Wow, kind of stupid to expect that. Even the 3080 is far from perfect with 4k RT. 3060 is for people who want to maximize 1080p with ray tracing and dlss. Well not even, bc the 3060 ti is the one for that

Power usage? Seems not great considering 1660s will do 30MH@70 watts
It's about the same ratio, these do ~50Mh at 120w.

do you have to enable something in the motherboard to get VGA port to work?

I'm out of the computer tech in a a while so i don't know all the tricks these days. I have this machine (see link below) with the GTX 1650 Super. I need to enable the VGA to hook up the 4th monitor if it's possible. Thank you for your feedback.

I know they're two different rigs, but I thought I'd reply anyway. I purchased an
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2285t Bundle PC over Memorial Day weekend. It said that it had a VGA port and an HDMI port, in addition to the 3060s ports.

Anyway, I saw in that BIOS that you could enable onboard video, That allowed Windows to see it, but only as a "Microsoft Desktop Display Adapter." I tried looking for a driver for it to no initial success. I then looked at HPs site for a driver, NOPE! What I did find was something that restored Intel devices and display adapters on HP pcs. This initialed the onboard video, which Windows Update then saw as an Intel 750 and got the driver for it. Finally, a notification from the Intel driver that was installed pushed me to the Intel site for an updated driver. This completely unlocked it.

Not sure if anything like this is applicable on Ryzen systems, but thought I'd put it out there. No need for the "do not remove" cover over the VGA port or the plug over the HDMI port anymore.

I don't know about the VGA. I just used the HDMI. Once I plugged it in, i was able to select it as a display in Windows display settings. I'm trying to remember if I had to change anything on the BIOS or not. You could check there. I know I had to on the Dell G5, but I don't remember on the HP.

Hey thanks for the feed back, by any chance do you remember which menu is that under BIOS to enable on board video? Thanks

Is this machine worth it if I plan on ripping the GPU out to resell, and then drop in a lower end GPU? This PC wouldn't be for gaming, and the GPU itself I may have a friend that may want it.

I'm not up with the times on GPUs... know they are scarce, but worried the included GPU might not be on par with other 3060s out there.

Search eBay. Looks like they're going for a decent price but slightly less. Hard to tell with auctions.

this is basically a repost, that somehow made front page?
https://slickdeals.net/f/15068737-2-hp-pavilion-gaming-desktops-with-ryzen-5-5600g-and-rtx-3060-for-918-00-each-or-889-00-each-with-working-advantage-1884-15?

this deal comes to:
$1070.71 with EDU email/friends and family store + 5% 5gamer2021
$2029.50 for 2 of these with EDU/friends and family + 10% off 10gamer2021

either way, not as good as the original thread.

Ya thanks bud. Just curious if there's anything I'm missing about the OEM GPU vs retail.

$140 extra for 16gb and 512gb SSD? You can buy 8gb stick of 3200mhz for $40 and buy bigger 1TB SSD for $90

With code 5GAMER2021 its $968.99 then upgrade it yourself with 1TB SSD and extra 8gb stick.
If you do this your better off buying a new 2x8gb kit unless you find the same model of 8gb stick on ebay. There's a good chance trying to bring the included stick up to 3200 and the same timing as the stick you buy will have issues .

Anyone know what brand 3060 it is or if it's LHR? You can almost get a free PC by just offloading the 3060.
Based on most reports, it'll be shorty single (large) fan HP OEM version. Up in the air if it is LHR 2.0 or not

if you're sole purpose is to rip out the gpu and sell on ebay, then i would not be buying this.

the GPU isn't bad, it'll hash eth just fine. your big problem will be if these are the LHR 2.0 cards that have no known bypass. if it is, miners won't want the card and you're likely to have less interest from just the gamers
