I buy the batteries to satisfy the Ink Rewards requirements.
A lot of people talk about the batteries leaking and I had this problem in the past. About 18 months ago I bought a fishing box that keeps out the elements and put all my batteries in that. Eventually, I had to buy a second fishing box.
I store the fishing boxes with the batteries in a walk-in closet and live in South Florida. As a test I took a few batteries out of the fishing box and put it in a small zip lock bag. The batteries in the small zip lock bag leaked. While all the batteries in the fishing box have not leaked.
The first fishing box I got is a Plano orange box. It's usually $15 but I got it for around $4. The second box is a Flambeau which I got for under $5 with a smoked clear look and has compartments.

i just replaced my thermostat the other day. it still had its duracell aa in it with exp date of march 2021. yes. march 2021. no leaks and still working.
i think i got these duracell batteries back in the old days of free after mail in rebates from toys r us.

And are you sure this deal is active, why does the deal say ends 5/29? I can't get the 100% reward promo to show up unless I go in incognito mode on my browser, is adblock blocking it?
For anyone new to this, prior to buying the batteries, enroll in the Rewards program. I recommend scraping together as many empty ink cartridges as you can, up to 10 per month with a $10 qualifying purchase, and recycling along with your battery purchase to get $2 Rewards per cartridge (issued next month) and make it more worth your while.
