This may be a tasty dessert, but it's shitty from a health perspective and obnoxiously misleading.

10g of sugar per serving. For a comparison, a serving of ice cream has usually 20-25g. And the serving sizes for granola are notoriously undersized, so you're likely getting as much sugar as a serving of ice cream.

Honey is the 2nd to last ingredient... less than oil. In reality, there's likely literally a drop or two of honey per serving, if that.

In other words, don't think of granola as healthy. But especially not this granola, despite the misleading marketing.

(for what it's worth, I'm passionate about this, because my day job is focused on Health stuff, my sis is a scientist, and my dad is a retired science prof).

I got a box of this stuff and man... you need to stay far away if you dislike coconut. I didn't read the ingredients cuz the front of the box saying it was "simply" this stuff earned my trust... but it is drenched in some sort of coconut flavoring that hits your face as soon as you open it. Like suntan lotion... tastes just as coconut-y too... couldn't finish it.

Most cereals in general are sugary and not really healthy if you eat it by itself. But for the past 6 months or so I've bought sugary cereals like fruity pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Oreo o's, Reese's puffs that no one should be really eating. But I make protein ice creams with healthy ingredients like protein powder, frozen berries, non fat Greek yogurt, almond milk, peanut butter powder etc. then add in 30-40 grams of whatever cereal blended and then crushed up as a sprinkled topping. It adds texture and taste to a mostly bland base recipe. Obviously if I was In a sugary binge mode I'd just take handfuls of the cereal and it by itself but it can be used in a pretty healthy protein ice cream recipe and added in moderation. And if wanna cut back in calories I just leave out the cereal and save the 150 calories and just have the frozen fruit and some sugar free syrup as the sweetness

Good price found by the OP.

Definitely tasty, but you are right about the level of sugar. A better option from both a cost and health perspective, if you are willing to put in a little (and I should say a very little) effort, is to make your own granola. It is trivial and you can customize it as you prefer. Check the usual recipe sites and youtube for ideas.

Interesting. I've been eating this for the past couple of years and I never noticed a coconut flavor or scent. Then again, I like coconut.
