Got the 199 kit (and the 99 2 batt&tool kit) the other weekend. Didn't think I'd ha e a use for the sawzall, but dang, been lopping all sorts of brush and branches with a single battery like they were twigs. Have a few old yew bushes that will finally meet their maker this weekend.

Impressed by the power these tools have.
No, ryobi tools are very good quality. They just get promoted tons here.
this set has the smaller batteries. large batteries are good for high drain devices as they will last longer between charges (Note they are not stronger, just last longer), but smaller batteries have the advantage of being light weight which is very helpful if you are using a tool continuously or working overhead.

ryobi offers the best bang for the buck for homeowner grade power tools, plus they have the largest selection of tools.

Ryobi knows that once you buy a few tools in a set like this, that the customer will inevitably buy several more in the One+ line. So I think they like to discount sets like this to hook people.

I picked up the 7-tool version of this. It was $168 in 2018 (according to quicken records) a few years ago. I've used the reciprocating saw, circular saw, and vacuum. The reciprocating saw in my kit is handy for pruning thick bush stems. Think I used the drill about 10 minute, once.
It has hot glue gun. Never used.
I've not used the sander, ever.
I've not used the flashlight, ever.
The vacuum is used more than anything else.
No complaints about the batteries or the tools really. Wish it had an impact driver. They sell a set for $199 with both a drill and impact driver. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../309659455
The bag has plenty of room. There are over 200 tools that work with these batteries and larger batteries for longer periods of use are available, if not cheap.

The charger in my kit is larger. Batteries haven't drained in any single job I've done. The kit has 2.

This is a lite-duty set for a few jobs a year at home. That's all I needed. Replacing some outside trim is the sort of task for this stuff.

This is tempting as a lot of my tools are corded. The circular saw I doubt I'd ever use (frankly they scare me a bit) so I'd try to sell it locally. The flashlight is nice, I guess and the vac would definitely see use even though I already have something like it.

The one tool I've been considering for a home project that's coming up is the random orbit sander but honestly, a Bosch corded one is $50 and the Ryobi ones are all over my local CL/FBMP used for $30. There's also the $20 Walmart one if I'm feeling particularly brave.

An Impact driver instead of a drill would probably make pull the trigger. Nice set for someone else, just not for me.

Competitors products each one individually would cost 15-20 bucks. It will make up the same. Anyways IMO 10 bucks less is no way a deal

How is the vacuum? Mine hardly sucks anything. Was so disappointed.

I was going to say the same thing. It's the one ryobi cordless tool I've been disappointed in. I hardly ever use it because it just doesn't suck much.

Good price, I almost wish I didn't have all this already lol

Maybe it's time to get a single matching toolset?

Yeah, I wish this was one of the "buy 5 tools, get 20% off" sales so I could buy 5, return 4, and get the Circular Saw at a discount.

And the addiction continues. Closing on a house soon and definitely gonna need this one.

How many batteries do you guys recommend? So far I have two 4.0 Ah then these two 1.5 Ah.

Are any of the brushless tools part of Ryobi days deals?
If you know of any, please give the link.

Thanks.

I have five Ryobi tools: a driver, hammer drill, hedge trimmer, pole saw and brushless reciprocating saw. All function well, love the recipro saw! I have two of the latest gen 4Ah batteries, go for a long time. People can bad mouth these all they want but I'm sold on Ryobi. I was a project manager in commercial construction for 15 years. Did I see many Ryobi's on the job site? Nope, but I'm a homeowner, not a contractor and these do EXACTLY what I ask of them.

Hope that helps.

I got this kit. Used it to fix up 3 flips. The sawzall broke and we replaced it with the Ryobi sawzall one step up which is nicer but costs more.

The circular saw is unreasonably small. It's very frustrating not being able to cut moderately thick boards. we replaced ours with the size up and love it.

so the kit is meh but Ryobi is good in general. this would suffice for low use imo.
